iPhone XS Space Grey 64GB reserved for pick up on release day. Gonna grab that new Forest Green Leather Case as well! (Always been intrigued by the + and now the Max, hands are way too small though)

 

Had everything good to go right at 2:01 local, store went up, scanned my finger print and got the order confirmation for launch day 256GB silver Max and then... no email. Nothing showing in orders. Freaked out and re-did it at 2:20, order went through at 2:25 for a black one instead. Immediately got an email and it said 1-2 weeks. then six minutes later I finally got an email about my initial purchase, which is now also showing 1-2 weeks. wth...

No issues locking in a 64GB Space Grey Max overnight.

Currently have a 128GB 7 Plus with roughly half available free space, so after taking a quick pass through some unused apps and photos going back to 64GB shouldn't be too much of an issue. But I am really going to miss that capacity point. Feel like 128GB is the sweet spot.

 

The XR has the same pixels per inch as my iphone 6. If I was upgrading I'd be getting the XS. I'm sure my eye won't notice it too much but the spec would bug me lol.

 

Waiting for XR. The difference isn’t even close to being worth $250 for me

 

Well it says I'll get my Max next Friday so hopefully that's accurate. I've gotten used to the size of my X but I'm excited to go back to a big phone.

Mac apps found to be stealing user data | ITProPortal

Anyone know of an easy way to check which apps have access to a home directory on a Mac without looking individually at the application preferences for each app?

 

Alright, just pulled the trigger on m first Apple Watch. I went with the 44mm series 4 with cellular. I'm hoping the 44mm was the right size.

 

I'm glad they bumped up the size a little, i still felt like the 42mm was sometimes still a little small. Went with just GPS, there is usually never a scenario where my phone isn't on me, even on a run/workout.

 

Neither of the sizes at this point ever felt right to me. It might be because I've been wearing a Withings fitness tracker for 3 years, which are much smaller. My main conflict was seeing that the series 4 40mm is actually larger than the current 42mm, which I already felt was pretty large. I'm betting it's just something I'll get used to, but I don't like the way larger watches look on my wrist. We'll see, I guess!

I'm not sure I'm going to activate the cellular, as I don't have a problem running with my phone. But I figured I'd take it as an option down the line if my needs change.

 

the 44mm in size comparison looks like the perfect amount of larger from the 42mm that i was hoping for. very excited to get this next week.

 

okay i bit the bullet and got an XS 64gb. also got the nice sleek peel case and screen protector. I just gotta adjust my candle budget.

 

First year I'm just.. not interested in new phone hardware at all. Feels kinda nice. Definitely gonna upgrade the ol' watch once the initial buzz dies down though.

 

Pretty weird how you can only get the stainless steel with GPS + Cellular but not just GPS. I need to upgrade my Series 0 and tempted with the SS.

 

Is the actual casing of the watch larger? Or is it just that the bezels have been removed so the screen is 32% larger or whatever Apple quoted.

I had the stainless steel series 0 in just GPS, but I guess they stopped making the GPS model in stainless. The stainless steel model was $649…which is entirely too much to spend every 3 years on a watch (assuming the watches will continue to be obsolete every 3 years with software updates). I went with aluminum now for the series 4.

 

Am I crazy or is the "cheap" one too expensive at 64GB?

 

the logic has to be that people will spend the extra $50 for literally double the capacity, which IMO is a fair PP. and if they don't, oh well, apple ain't strugglin'. it's like when you go to the movies and the small popcorn is $8 and the large XL bathtub size is $8.75. which one you gonna do?

 

Okay, then even the one with the small capacity is weirdly expensive. Am I understanding it right that they implied that the 8 is somehow still also a current model? Because if so, that partly explains it.

 

I was blown away going from my iPhone 6s to my iPhone X in terms of how much better the screen looked, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised if you decide to upgrade.

 

You guys think I'd be better off getting last year's X for $6 more monthly than the XR? Or is the XR a better deal?
