I don't think so. Basically, the egg results are predetermined when you receive them from a stop or from a gift. So the eggs you receive during the event (not eggs you hatch during the event) are the ones eligible for the regionals, unless it's different than other events.

 

So, I'm not sure if this is going to make any sense, but I was already walking one right before I got to that research task and I hadn't gotten a candy yet (I was at like 9.2km or something) and when I got the candy for hitting 10k it counted it towards the task. But it didn't count the one I had already gotten before I started the task. I'm not sure if that makes sense or not.

 

Hmmm. So did it say that you had completed half of the task (5km) since you received one candy after the task was given to you?

I remember reading something that said "Make sure you get 2 candies before you evolve" so I wonder if it tricks it into going by candy earned instead of actual distance walked.

 

You must get 2 candies from walking Eevee during the quest you are on. That's all. You can get the candies from 5k and 10k, or you can get them from 35 and 40, or anything. You just need to get a total of 2 Eevee candy while she's your buddy.

 

It only showed it as half complete. So, it was completed when I walked another eevee 5km.

So, technically I only walked Eevee 5.8 miles to complete the task

 

i just say EST because most people don’t know what EDT is. Including me, beyond what it stands for.

 

Some new shinies have been released, including Grimer, current working theory is some/all Pokemon with an Alola counterpart have had their shiny forms released.

 

Are shinies more prevalent during this event? First Bulbasaur I clicked on after work was shiny, which was nice because I missed that community day.

 

PSA: Raid eggs will now last for only 15 minutes, but once hatched raids will be active for 90 minutes. (Seems to be a temporary thing for the Kanto event... but I'm hoping they will split the difference)

 

Did I miss some spawn event happening now too? Just took a 30 minute walk and saw multiples of all gen 1 starters, a Chansey, 3 Porygons, Hitmonchan, and a Tangela. All stuff I never see.

 

Gen 1 spawns are increased for at least the next week as part of the ultimate reward; speculation is that this is a "last hurrah" for gen 1 before gen 4.

 

Ah okay, interesting. I must've have missed that info somehow. Seems like every day or two there's a new announcement about something haha.

Doesn't explain the other rare spawns that I just saw, but hey, I'm not complaining!

Edit: I looked it up and I guess all Kanto spawns are increased. Gen 4 definitely has to be coming very very soon.

 

i still need hitmonlee. got i hope i can get one this event.

 

This is pretty dope so far, a lot of what I'm seeing is stuff I already have but never see usually. Plus, now that I'm paying attention to IVs, I can replace the garbage I have cluttering my box.

 

Still need shinies for some of those guys that I never see - missed the community day shinies for Dratini, Charmander, and Bulbasaur somehow.

Edit: Looks like there's also shiny Grimer out there.

Looks like all kinds of things are hatching out of 7ks...including Pokémon whose candy can be used for Gen 4. Kind of a bummer though because the regionals are kinda rare which is mostly why people want the eggs in the first place.

I've been so depressed lately that I've been having trouble getting out of bed and the house, today I didn't even get out of bed and that means I missed spinning a gym which ruined my Celebi research. Now I'm bummed.

 

I want the new shinies, a hitmonlee, Moltres, Mewtwo, and the non-europe regionals and then I pretty much just have to evolve things to complete Kanto.

The main things I need to evolve and aren't close with are Growlithe, Ponyta (caught one at work just now), Clefairy (one just appeared at work too) and Dratini (caught two at home lasy night so now have Dragonair and 30 candies)

 

Yeah I'm really appreciating the less common kanto pokes showing up, I can see myself making some strides with the dex after plateauing a bit. The legendaries/regionals would be icing on the cake.

 

Been catching a ton of poliwag which is gonna help me come time for the “evolve 2 pokemon with special items” because the jhoto fest wasnt around long enough for me to acquire 2 sun stones but i have like 9 kings rock lol
