Not to beat that dead horse, but even counting b-sides, Wake Up is the only Thrice song in their discography that I do not like. I can jam any other song any time of day, that is why they are number 1 my dudes.

Man I bet My Soul will be awesome live assuming they play it live.

At this point, I've come around on all songs so I'll be happy no matter what they play from Palms. I would rather them play the few upbeat songs they have on here, but My Soul would make a good slow down moment.

I love every single song on Palms now. What a great fucking record.

This has grown on me so much faster than Beggars and TBEITBN, which were ones I didn't grasp right away, but at the same time I don't think Palms will reach the heights of either for me.

Not a slam on this album, but their discography is so strong I'd probably put it toward the bottom.

I would love to hear "Just Breathe" live, but I worry that without the female vocals it just wouldn't have the same impact.

Eh, I feel like they're talented enough to do something cool there with guitars and/or keys.

If they do play "My Soul" I hope they jam it out at the end.

In a Sweater poorly knit is still the best song with a harp tho.

Are you seeing them live on the Palms tour?

Well I should of said my favorite song with a harp. I'm sure there must be some better ones out there that I just don't know about.

I've got a ticket! I may end up missing the openers, because I'll have to go home to help my wife put the kids to bed, but I'm hoping to at least see part of The Bronx's set.

What Bjork song are you referring to?

Teppei and Ed will just have to hit those high notes!

I mean, I think the chorus to The Dark would probably sound better, but that's fair

All of them that feature the harp. She was just the first prominent artist I could think of that uses that instrument.

that’s a deliberate production choice almost definitely chosen by the band. you really think that was done on accident and was just a mistake and made it all the way to completion without being changed? I’ve been saying since day one it sounds terrible but if you don’t think it’s deliberate and a different producer would’ve changed it I’ve got some news for you

I also find Hold Up a Light to be a little boring but it’s a small gripe about an otherwise outstanding album

Thats fair, and I'm sure it was deliberate, I never thought it wasn't. But a different producer may steer the band in a different direction and give a better explanation to them as to why it's not the greatest choice and offer a different perspective.

But I find that in general, I have to lower the bass on many of these tracks when listening in the car or my soundbar and it kind of bothers me  still a great album just the same, it's really a very minor critique and nothing I'm losing sleep over

Also I think you commit a felony when you recommend any album other than Beggars for someone who wants to know where to start with Thrice. V and Arist might be off putting for some softy that doesn’t love harder music. Alchemy may be too experimental for some dweebs. Major Minor might suck too much for others (jk, it’s ok)...but Beggars, man Beggars is just perfect and encompasses their entire sound.

It’s just weird to say, before an album is even out, imagine what it would sound like with a different producer. The production is fine. That one part of the dark is my only complaint. All modern rock is bass heavy, sapone records could easily have the same issue.
