I've been curious about that show too.^

I've liked him in the couple things I've seen him in.

 

Lol how did you not know that?? Also I’m a fan of his and kinda want to check out that show but don’t ever feel like putting it on

 

I liked him in Black Mirror.

 

I’ve been listening to the Binge Mode Harry Potter podcast and was just thinking today how great a GDT movie in that series would have been (esp Goblet & on).

I saw this movie in theaters without having seen the first one (girlfriend's family wanted to go). It was a weird experience piecing everything together but that's kinda what made it fun. I was like wait, so, this girl's dead mom did a lot of fuckin and now her daughter has three dads? And Abba? And Cher's her grandma? I was like damn this movie must have been ahead of it's time cuz everyone's just totally chill with this situation but they're also all like, rich and attractive so what do they have to be mad about.

 

I just started rewatching Dexter, currently in the middle of season 1. I forgot how much I loved this show (except for the last season or 2).

FIrst season and Lithgow season were the highlights. 2 was good too if I remember. 3 was trash? It was so long ago

A Sat morning science show probably would've been right up my alley when I was a kid and enjoyed waking up early on the weekend.

 

I’ve watched American Psycho for the second time in a week. I feel gross for enjoying it but knowing that it’s a commentary on 80s Wall Street douches and how blunt it carries itself makes it appealing.

Christian Bale is also a terrific actor.

 

I love that movie. One of my favorite comedies.

 

I actually do laugh at certain parts. The “because I want to fit in” and many of Bateman’s facial expressions just always get me.

 

Knowing how much Bret Easton Ellis hates women has made it totally impossible to ever view any of his work or adaptations as the satire they claim to be.

 

That’s unfortunate but I believe it. The book is nearly impossible to read because he goes into graphic details of the murders. Someone who didn’t hate women couldn’t write that stuff or at least want others to read it.

I still think that the mindset of Patrick Bateman is a true telling of the dangers of becoming too comfortable and conforming in a world of materialism and excess wealth. It does make the story seem less effective knowing that the misogyny of Bateman is probably a part of the author that leaked into his writing.

 

I've never read the book and have no interest in it because of all that other shit.

Plus, the movie was written and directed by two women, so I think they took the macho bullshit Ellis put into the source material and turned it on its' head making a clearly satirical and biting commentary piece on that whole gross era.

 

Yeah he's a prick but Mary Hannon is great
