  6. A band I fucking love who move in completely different circles also has a pair of bros in the rhythm section (The National) - I like where this is going.

dude, just stop. This is ridiculous. We get it. You don't like the album. It doesn't matter when we first started listening. I started at Vheissu. Artist is still the better entry point to hear the progression.

  19. OK just finished my first listen to Artist, I was expecting straight-ahead post-HXC and got something a good bit more interesting whose DNA I can pick up in plenty of other bands I listen to. Very 2003 at times but that's OK.

Yeah every album before this was more straightforward early 2000's post hardcore. Illusion Of Safety actually did it pretty well so it's worth giving a listen to later on! But yeah Artist started their progression to more than just a cookie cutter band of that era and from Vheissu on they really got going on their own thing!

But yeah get ready for Vheissu. You are in for a treat!

I got into them with Vheissu but loved going back to find they used to shred a little more.

Vhesissu sounds almost nothing like the last few albums, so I dunno how that is who Thrice is now. Thrice is always changing, isn't that why we all love Thrice? The same band that can shred Under a Killing Moon and then go into folky Come All You Weary and then play Xylophone on Broken Lungs? I love that.
