I've been on a real Cypress Hill trip recently. I obviously knew the famous tracks, but never really gave any of the full albums a proper listen. Their first 3 or 4 albums are really great and even some singles on the albums from 2000 onwards are kinda great too.

Now I think about it, i'm pretty sure it was the Homerpalooza episode of The Simpsons that got me to listen to more of them haha

 

Cypress Hill rule.

 

Cypress Hill used to be much more present in historical hip hop discussions. I'm not sure what has happened but they definitely deserve to be mentioned and celebrated.

Also, in an age of horrible rap/rock crossover attempts, we should remember that Cypress Hill actually did it succesfully more than once.

 

The funny thing is, I actually have Skull & Bones and Stoned Raiders on CD that I bought in my rebellious late teens as I was moving away from my nu-metal stage. And I bought Dr Greenthumb on cassette single when I was at school too haha.

God, i'm old.

 

I stole Stoned Raiders from my sister's boyfriend when I was a tween

 

Stoned Raiders has some great tracks. Lowriders is still a great summer jam

I'm going to see Doja Cat tonight so I was digging through some of her stuff and came across this...

Listening to the L8loomer record now and it's pretty good

 

Doja Cat record and all her features are so damn fire. Fans of her should also check Amber Mark. More R&B influenced if anything but still great.

 

As I'm getting further into this L8loomer record, I'm glad I discovered it. Despite not being a huge fan of more poppy/R&B leaning hip-hop, this album has a few jams on it.

 

this is becoming one of my favorite songs this year
