  1. Wow, thanks for the links! I'll be checking out AHS: Apocalypse, but I have no idea what to expect. Into the Dark, The Haunting of Hill House, and that Sabrina show have my interest.

I'm extremely excited for Mandy. I either had no idea or totally forgot about that Apostle movie on Netflix. I love Gareth Evans and Dan Stevens.

SHUDDER subscribers: does it have a lot of the classics? My girlfriend hsn't seen so many of them (Halloween, Nightmare.., Hellraiser, Friday The 13th etc) and she wants to watch a bunch for Halloween.

Considering watching Mother! tonight. I know some people I know really hated it so I was curious what peoples’ thoughts are here. Is it worth a shot?

  7. I loved it. The friend I saw it with hated it. It's extreme hit or miss with most people.

  8. I also loved it. Not a typical horror film, but if you're a fan of Aronofsky/Black Swan, it should hit the right notes for you. I'd argue that its polarizing reputation makes it worth the watch regardless.

    Slice was alright.
Not nearly as absurd as I was hoping.

  13. Never considered myself much of a horror fan, but apparently I like prestige horror? Like, Hereditary, Get Out, The Babadook. Horror comedies like Cabin in the Woods, Drag Me to Hell, and Tucker and Dale vs. Evil have also been very enjoyable. I was also really into Ringu and Ju-On like ten years ago at the peak of my anime obsession, so I definitely have an inclination towards the supernatural. Never really gave slashers a chance, though. I watched the trailer for the new Halloween, it looks like it's building upon a ton of lore. I'm just... not that interested? Just the idea of watching people getting killed by some dude is just unappealing to me idk. Like, if I wanted to watch a guy go on a murdering spree I guess I would rather watch John Wick? I haven't seen it, but it sounds like a better time than a horror movie. Maybe it's because I just haven't seen a good slasher movie... or, well, any slasher movie.

I still really love The Cabin In The Woods, but not many I know are as big on horror as me so it doesn’t click as well with anyone else.

you're welcome! I'm pretty stoked for that as well, I just picked up the book to read before it comes out

The book is great. Shirley Jackson is great. In my opinion, she's one of the greatest Amreican writers and she doesn't get the credit she deserves. If you like Hill House, I recommend "We Have Always Lived in the Castle" and "Hangsaman."

I like that, hope Ed and Lorraine have big roles. Although I really would like them doing another investigative story.

Also, looks like I need to see Annabelle: Creation. I never saw either of them but it seems I can skip the first one?

I'm being honest and not over the top when I say I think the Annabelle movies are kinda trash and pale in comparison to The Conjuring 1 & 2.

    I heard 1 isn't good, but 2 was decent.

The only thing that saves it or is interesting is how it ties into the other movie. Other than that, MERP.
