Unless I just missed it I did notice that they didn't say anything about the opportunity for it to be a shiny which I find odd.

 

Shiny Mewtwo is either a surprise or not part of the event, the in-game announcement only mentions shiny birds.

Just got a lucky Tropius, very happy with that. Only need Corsola and Torkoal now to be done with the current dex. Don’t really care about the bird raids since I did so well on the special days, but I hope I can finally get a +90 Mewtwo from this.

 

Shiny Mewtwo will probably be announced when it starts. If it ain't there, it would be a big wasted opportunity.

Honestly I had way too much fun with the 3 hours of the birds. It's fun because it brings a lot of people together for 3 hours, all following each other and talking while doing the raids.

 

You're not the only one. I think it just adds a little extra incentive to play, just to try to get that special Pokemon.

 

Right, like I would never click on every Natu I see otherwise. Haha.

This whole franchise has always been based on the idea of sucking players in and getting them hooked on the thought of eventually “catching them all”. So shines just add a whole extra layer to that.

Yeah in order for you to get the double XP you would need to have an egg on, but I would still get the double XP if only I had the egg on. I just like to give the other person a chance to pop one if they’re able to.
