Yeah so it seems like Trio will be 9th in sales but the chart that counts with streaming they won't be in the top 50. Still highest chart sales-wise for them so it's something

 

This album continues to impress me. Honestly, I haven't felt this strong about an Alkaline Trio album this early on upon release since Good Mourning came out. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE albums after GM, but Crimson - MSIT all had to grow on me with time. I genuinely liked every song after the first few listens on this album.

So happy they are back.

 

I get the title track stuck in my head every day

 

Also, Demon & Division really does capture everything great about this band and its members in one song.

 

Thats how you do a damn intro for an album.

 

The moment I hop on the bus to go anywhere lately, ITTC is always in my ears and I want to play it loudly so everyone can hear and understand why they’re the best band ever.

 

I have an 8.5 hour car ride on Wednesday. ITTC will be getting some play for sure.

Whenever I listen to Sadie from Crimson on Spotify, I get the BYO split EP version. It's really annoying. Does this happen to anybody else?

I just came by to say that "Stay" is this band's "Anthology" and I fucking love it. The past song references are so goddamn tasteful, and touching as well

Also, "Throw Me to the Lions" has a Blink Untitled feel, with the drums and that echoey "give meeeeee violence" bridge. Anyone else?

 

Tbf, Blink Untitled has tons of ‘Alkaline Trio discography’ feel to it haha, mostly for the darker turn it took lyrics wise.

There are some songs that aren’t quite hitting me yet, but I Can’t Believe is probably my favorite right now.

 

Yeah that's true, pretty sure Skiba was a huge reason why we got songs like Obvious and All of This lyrically. I was just thinking Lions has that kind of vibe musically as well, the reverbed vox and the creepy keys have an 80s vibe which reminds me of Untitled a lot

 

Too many heys, Feldmann made them write the songs too quick, it's all rushed

Haha Vampires is great. Being close to October it almost makes me want them to just say fuck it and embrace their inner Misfits and make a ridiculous halloween video for this

 

I always thought how funny is people blamed Feldman for whooas and heyas,since Matt used a LOT of Whoas already on every album since Agony

 

The layering of other guitar, effects, vocals it's just all so well done on this whole album

 

I’m pretty sure there is a video out there of Blink speaking highly of Alkaline Trio on YouTube from around that time.

In other news I really need to listen to this album. I keep hearing good things.

Mark mentioned on a podcast that Tom was listening to a lot of Trio while they were recording TOYPAJ.

 

My final for AOTY will be probably this and Brian Fallon's Sleepwalkers.Tough.Alkaline Trio are my favorite band but damn Gaslight Anthem is right behind and Sleepwalkers is just fucking masterpiece...I take this shit seriously haha
