It’s not too deep on the surface, with frontman Matty Healy mugging alongside a group of his band’s fans against candy-colored backdrops, but these kids’ charmingly awkward joy pops through the screen in a way that doesn’t happen in similarly staged (and similarly diverse) commercials for, say, The Gap. Perhaps this has something to do with the fact that the 1975, for all their marketing prowess, are more than a brand. Or that “TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME” is one of their friendliest songs to date. I love that Pitchfork is finally repping them

 

the facedown EP and self titled reviews were both really bad but the ILIWYS was actually quite positive and the score seemed more of an editorial choice than the writers feelings. the 7.1 that live at the 02 recieved felt like course correction for that as did love it if we made it getting BNT

 

None of the three songs they've released really jump out at me the way the singles from the last albums did :\

 

Has TooTime been sent to radio yet? Haven't seen it pop up on the alt charts yet, which is surprising to me.

Damn it. Not paid til the 15th. Wouldn't have bought so many damn PS4 games if I'd have known this was coming.

Confused though...wasn't the band not supposed to tour for another year? Are they really announcing a tour that far ahead? Either way, I'm going to end up buying tickets and not getting to go. Meant to be moving to Japan in a month or two. Hoping there'll be some shows there.

I'm listening to it now and I can't stop laughing after reading that. I used to love 'Here In Your Arms'. Damn. I keep picturing the dumb music video for it at that summer camp with the cliched nerd getting the girl story paha. Inspiring stuff.

 

Old Hellogoodbye falls into a specific niche of the scene that aged horribly.
