I really want to like Boston Manor, but nothing I have heard really stands out to me, doesn't seem like they're doing anything noteworthy or different to stand out from the pack

Monster has cut off all their recording money bc not enough people were buying the damn drinks

The new album is quite a change for them, so if you haven't heard it then it could be worth a go.

I hadn’t even heard of Boston Manor until I saw Sapone posting stuff about them on Instagram. Googled them and found out they were from my hometown of Blackpool! Quite funny to see a song called FY1 on the track list which was my old postcode.

New Foxing record has the vibes, imo.

new foxing is the closest any record has come to the ethos of TDAG imo

Just came to pile on the Foxing love...that new album is soooo good and then going back to hear the older stuff as well is a trip worth taking

Citizen definitely hits some of the same notes as well. Youth is such a great album. Digesting the newest still.

"Reverie Lagoon: Music for Escapism Only" by Seahaven definitely has got a TDAG vibe as well! and I agree on 2 last Citizen albums, too. I'm sure there's more in my head, seeing as I often cite that reflection.

Imo citizen is offensively boring, and way off on that x-factor that makes records like NMG so great

hmmm, even the new one? ;o ...for me the first one is predictable, but still really enjoyable, but for example "As You Please" is top notch.

Ill back peddle my comment; I've only heard the other 2 records, which I thought were mediocre and bad respectively

I liked them both, seeing as I enjoy their sound and Mat's voice for the most part. Wouldn't like to get you into no fun with that, but if you'll get some free time in your hands - try the latest one out as well - eventually I feel it's quite superior to its predecessors.

And don't sleep on Everybody is going to heaven. A really great record in its own right. Very Daisy esque.

I thought the Boston Manor album was fine, but nothing spectacular. I'll give it some more listens, and "Halo" is definitely an earworm, but about the best thing I can say about it is that once it was over I immediately wanted to listen to Citizen's As You Please.
