I am confused though, why would Blink cancelling affect them announcing their special headliner. Surely they could have announced Blunk canceling in addition to their special headliner, unless Weezer was not locked in at that point.

 

I am very sad because blink are my heroes but at least they didn't get some whack shit to take their place. Stoked for everything to finally get announced starting tomorrow though!

 

They're clearly trying to spin it otherwise but as I said earlier - this doesn't excuse them holding everything up. They could have announced a second wave and kept Blink on and announced a swap after the fact, especially because it's health related.

 

tbh it's probably just optically better to separate those announcements by even a day

 

I think Weezer was a legit last minute thing, guess we'll find out tomorrow on the rest

 

im so torn on this. i love blink and was so jacked to see them - that said, RTJ fucking rules and weezer given the right set list rules. TBS im meh on, and will see if there's no conflict or i dont have to walk too far.

side note; last time i saw blink i got so drunk i pissed in our hamper that night - my fiance is pretty happy they're out haha

 

Honestly don’t think blink has much to do with the hold-up. I think that still has to do with the third headliner. But also probably they had an inkling blink was pulling out.

 

Maybe a month ago or more.

 

I actually saw all of these bands on tour last year. So excited for RTJ.

A couple members months ago have mentioned on Instagram posts that they “hope to play Riot Fest this year” and while they could certainly just actually be hoping, seems odd that more than one member mentioned so...

 

I love Weezer, and I love that song, but I’m so fuckin over that cover

 

TBS plays every year, and RTJ were booked months ago... they decided to announce 3 bands instead of one, it's called marketing.

 

I feel a little better about being wrong but I gotta go see them now bc they’re my fav band (don’t @ me)

 

All I know is that I fully expect RTJ to be Friday night and I'm already booked up that day.

Visa issues could have held things up until early last week when they were hit with this cancellation. Then with adding three acts to one day, they had to move the schedule all around.

 

I really hope Weezer, RTJ, and TBS don't all play at the same time on differnt stages lol even though that seems likely at this point

Every year I say I’m not going and every year I cave I hope tbs and twy are the same day along with some cool bands lower on the bill

 

I really hope this doesn't mean Weezer and Run the Jewels are going to conflict.
