I think someone asked yesterday if anyone lived near the park and could check if fencing has gone up yet. Found this on Reddit:

That's another good sign. But, of course, people will start saying "But LouFest..."

Which, y'know, I get it. But I'll take these good signs for what they are: Good signs.

Just curious, was Loufest set up when they cancelled? I really haven't looked into it besides read their press release

While we are bored, who is everyone looking forward to seeing?
I can only go Sunday so as of right now I wanna see:

    Mom Jeans
    Johnny Marr
    Incubus
    Alkaline Trio (probably on Sunday)
    Suicidal Tendencies
    Blondie
    Calpurnia
    Young The Giant

My daily highlight (based on what I know at this point, schedule-wise):
    Friday: Digable Planets
    Saturday: Interpol
    Sunday: Blondie, Spitalfield

Is it just me, or is the situation with LouFest a bit different than the Riot Fest one? Looking at the line-up (and admittedly, I may be out of touch with this stuff) but the headliners seem to be pretty weak--and slightly incongruent with the rest of the festival line-up. It also didn't feel like it was much of a "destination" festival for people the way Riot fest is.

There's also the whole thing about weather and walk-ups, etc. It also seems like the press was all over them in a negative way. Neither of which seem to be issues with Riot Fest.

I mean, it's a situation that could happen to "any" festival, so yeah maybe something similar is going on with Riot Fest... But after sitting with it some, I don't know that we need to be so worried because this festival got cancelled.

The two are completely different festivals with different demographics in different cities.

Y'all are sleeping on Father John Misty. Favorite of all the headliners easily

I've seen him twice, and the second time was just three weeks ago. So I have Interpol in front of him. But fuck yeah, his live show is mesmerizing.

Just saw him at Maha with Weezer. Very talented vocalist but his music is just not my style at all. I'll probs pass.

I'm so excited to see him at the end of the month. I'm going on a trip to Indy then and he happened to have a show while I'm there, so I bought tickets as soon as I found out. It's at some weird small park amphitheater haha

Maha was a blast! That was my first time attending, and I had a great time. Tune-Yards/Kills/FJM/Weezer was a pretty fun block of live music. Especially the Kills, for me.

  22. Elvis Costello is easily my most anticipated. Also really looking forward to Young the Giant, Spitalfield, the Audition, TWY, and Bleachers.

I've been going to Maha since 2016 and I actually wasn't gonna go this year since I only wanted to see Weezer but I won VIP passes so I went. Good time but to get me to drive up from Lincoln usually I need more than just a good headliner. Oh well Weezer was so good.
