The latter part of this, is what I heard a while back...the headliners may need to swap days, due to the issue with the main headliner and the potential fill in only being available on a non-Sunday or not being as big. Blink is free on Friday and Sunday, right? Curious if the main sunday fell through, maybe they were going to move Blink to sunday, and the other new replacement headliner to friday. Then Alkaline Trio may may need to change days, potential swap around some other bands. And if, they announced single day tickets, and people bought a ticket to see blink or a headliner, then that headliner ended up playing a different day, people could complain that the headliner they bought a ticket for didn't play and they want their money back. Hence, why the headliner issue, if it causes them to switch up headliner days, and other bands...would stop them from releasing single day tickets/schedules

 

And they are nit picking over the bottom line.

Green Day pulled out of Voodoo last minute years ago.. they owe it to the festival gods to repay the favor and cut Riot a good deal.

 

Yeah, but to wait until 8 days before the festival (I'm counting today as a lost day)...

You know who I always expect to see reunite on this and never do...Bloodhoung Gang...Jimmy and Jared have bad blood but it’s not bad blood enough to never get back together again.

 

This band is #1 on my list of bands who's lyrics I chuckled to back in the day but man oh man they DO NOT hold up.

 

I would flip my wig for a Bloodhound Gang reunion at Riot.

I love the Bloodhound Gang, but pretty sure the only festival they could actually headline would be a West Philadelphia version of the Scallywag

Losing a limb really sucks, but I wouldn't be surprised if they reunite in another couple years or so

 

Imagine this: Andrew Dost opens with some random collection of songs (Anathello or his Columbus project), then we get sets from Steel Train, the Format, and Bleachers, before leading to the headlining slot by fun. Sam Means has joined fun. full time. My life ends.

 

Yup, that would make perfect sense. And that would be a tricky, tricky thing to pull off...

I think I mentioned something like this earlier too. Where it would possibly impact some of the smaller bands as well (e.g., the Jesus Lizard) getting shifted around to different days to "match" with a planned headliner (or because they don't fit with a certain headliner).

And really? It's almost definitely going to impact Blink-182... Which would impact Alkaline Trio.

And all of this could also be effecting the nights certain bands do/don't play aftershows.

This explains the single-day tickets not being on sale perfectly if it turns out to be the case, but... It still fucking sucks for Riot Fest and is going to hurt attendance.

I mean, at one point we were all convinced that the Longshot were going to be playing (and SWMRS being on the bi... But I'm pretty sure Billie said something recently about "needing to get back to his other wives" or something like that.

I just hate how every time the name comes up in this thread, I get excited about them being a possibility again. Hah. Especially given that they're definitely "free" as they aren't touring right now, and they seem to be in "fuck it, let's do fun shit" mode. Haha.
