as far as moving freight goes, i haven't seen anything come through for any Riotfest artists aside from the one riofest aftershow at Bottom Lounge. i will ask around here if anyone else has seen anything.

 

I read once that if they do return their first festival would probably be Reading and Leeds, which I could totally see. Otherwise, I bet they just do their own show if they ever return.

 

So according to the MCR theory. They were all set, backed out, RF tried to get Bauhaus, Peter Murphy's visa got denied because he lives in Turkey, now RF is really scrambling....it sounds legit but would this really hold up everything else in regards to single day tickets & schedule without knowing one possible headliner??

i wouldn’t think so, but throw enough money someone’s way and you never know. i have to imagine they’d get bigger $$ from some other festival (if they went that route), but these are just a few things i’ve heard.

either way, would love a MCR reunion one way or another haha

I thought that too, but are they legally obligated to have a mystery headliner? Like if they did that and announced it, then never found someone, are they liable for a law suit?

I don't think so. They say the acts are subject to change on the web site. They also never said they had a third headliner.

CoS did as part of that contest, and the poster would indicate there's one based on the question marks but... They never outright said it.

I mean, I'm sure there's some sort of discussion going on around that as we speak. At least. I'd imagine/hope there is.

okay so I have been messaging multiple bands on facebook all morning and got a reply from a band involved who is relatively big but he told me not to say anything because they are contractually obligated to keep quiet. As far as they know it is on and they will be resolving it soon and the schedule will be announced. I didn't get the details on what the situation is but it sounds like its going to be resolved shortly. I am a man of my word so don't want to get the band in trouble but according to them it sounds promising. This is directly from a band and not Riot Fest so its not set in stone but I'm more optimistic now.
