fuck, they did it again

 

spent my afternoon after work with it and it turned onto me in a big way. fighting kangaroo is the shit, but i can't get over how fucking good big lie is, the way barry just turns the switch on and goes fucking vintage joyce manor crazy is my favorite part of the album. that and his little croon when he says "rushed"? on the outro is heavenly. i even like the two singles a lot more played with these other songs. silly games low key could end up being one of my fav tracks on here. haven't heard them do much else like that.

opening line of gone tomorrow that @unbornwhiskey quoted earlier just fuckin ends me.

i'm feeling much better about this album. i am probably going to delete it from my phone after tonight because i dont wanna overplay it before its out. i'd like to enjoy the release cycle with the band, but i think they did it again.

was playing silly games and wildflowers for my wife cause she's never been huge on their records and i think this one might turn her into a fan. when i put on wildflowers she was like "What the fuck, did he fall in love or something?"

I'm excited for my second listen, still think this could grow on me a lot. that happens often with softer stuff.

 

But at the same time I do want to hear this, if you know what I’m saying

 

this is absolutely insane ive listened five times

 

Digging this more with headphones, appreciating the production more.

 

Regardless of how I feel about the whole record, the a side is fucking incredible

feel like "wildflowers" is the logical endpoint of putting a song like "angel in the snow" on your previous record. both rule

 

This will make no sense to anyone, but when he sings in his lower range it sort of reminds me of Geoff Rickly’s lower range. Especially the way he trails off notes.

 

Okay I love this now, took three listens to sort of “get it”

 

The one-two punch of Big Lie and I'm Not The One is so fucking good. I'm really loving this.

 

idk how ppl are not vibing with the back half of this the last four songs are the best part

 

They are also the most different. Silly games and the last two tracks mostly

 

part of me wants to wait, but the other part of me realizes that september-october is stacked, so I don't know if I'll give this enough time once it actually comes out. Thrice, TSSF, MWY, Coheed, etc.

 

really having a hard time holding off on listening to this but i really think im going to wait the two and a half weeks. just something about experiencing release day with your favorite bands.
