These rumors seemed to be based on some random dude saying "it's probably cancelled" because they have the exact same amount as information as us.

Have not seen any rumor from anyone remotely credible. It's just people speculating based on lack of information.

 

Today is the Riot Fest White Sox night too. Wouldn't be surprised if we got the full lineup tonight while that's happening.

I’m not actually going to Riot Fest, but I am having my bachelor party at the Blink-182 show in Columbus on the 15th Saturday. Someone told me riot was getting canceled due to travis’ blood clots again and that had me worried.

 

That ran through my mind too. I kind of want to go now to see if that happens

 

Going to that game (not because of RF, but because the Sox are terrible and it's a good way to get great seats for super cheap). If anyone wants me to smuggle in some rocks to throw at the Riot Fest people for making up wait so long, I'll give it my best.

Riot Fest isn't listed anywhere on the Chicago Parks Department or Douglas Park websites (they list when private events are happening in the parks, as well as cost).

Don't think it's any type of alarm or anything, but it does make me wonder if part of the delays have been with finalizing Chicago Parks Department stuff.

 

That's 100% all the rumors are based on. The festival's delayed announcements, reduced ticket prices, and the "festival bubble" and associated issues that other fests have had over the last two years is a pretty perfect stew for people to go on about conspiracy theories.

Really, I think it's just people wanting to talk about shit as a way to "vent" until we actually get more news.

I know, right?!! In 9 days I'll be landing in Chicago right about now!

 

lol, this morning I actually messaged Chicago Park District, Douglas Park, and Douglas Park Advisory Committee on FB...just trying to see if I could get the scoop from one of them...on the chance that perhaps it was a park issue. No responses yet.

 

So we're back on this train after a holiday weekend?

 

I talked my girlfriend out of going tonight. We just went on Sunday and had tickets to Saturday but bailed. I'm exhausted from the holiday weekend.

That being said, I don't expect anything at this point.
