Ugh just did my second Mewtwo raid and didn’t catch him. Pretty bummed out right now, especially considering I has to drive 40 minutes away just to participate.

 

I’m up to four now. Will probably stay there because I don’t see myself playing much more today

 

This is very surprising, you're honestly the first i've heard of anyone ever not getting their Mewtwo at an Ex Raid. Did you miss a few times?

 

Yeah, maybe missed like three times and only had ten balls. It happens, though. Several people in my raid group have missed before. I had a lot of trouble on my first Mewtwo raid but for it on like my second to last ball. It’s fucking disappointing though. I just wish I lived in a place where I didn’t have to make such a drive just to have a chance of an ex raid.

It has like a 5% catch rate versus other legendaries which have a 2.5% catch rate. Plus his movements are really hard to time imo. I’ve done 7 Regirock raids and caught all of them, and did 19 Zapdos raids on Zapdos day and caught all of them.

 

Understandably. I am in the luck that I moved recently to an apartment within 30 seconds walking distance of a gym that regularly has them. Finally got one last week that was above 82% after 8 Ex Raids. It was an 89% but still happy to know I can actually see stronger ones.

 

Also, 30+ TM's later and my 96% maxed out Mew finally has Psyshock/is useful.

 

Oh man I would kill to have an ex eligible gym that close to me, that’s awesome. And 89% is really good for a Mewtwo, I wouldn’t worry about that too much, even a 0% Mewtwo is better than almost every other Pokemon currently.

 

I always keep mine Shadow Ball.

 

Shadow Ball is useful with some certain pokemon, but not Mew. Essentially, my Mew would only be used for battles against Ghost types (Which rip through Psychic types so it's already a losing battle), or other Psychic types in which psychic Pokemon could only do half the damage. With Psyshock it's got a STAB bonus and the speed so it actually makes it a useful Psychic attacker.

 

Oh I totally read that as Mewtwo. Lol.

What a day today. Got 4 shiny wingulls, came across a wild charizard. Not bad

 

This game is really shit. Why do all this work for absolutely no rewards? I haven't found a shiny since the Roselia thing.

 

I didn't get a shiny roselia or a shiny Wingull. In fact I haven't had a shiny in ages other than like 5 Eevees.

That's cool though, I'll find them in time!

 

Chiming in.. I have only gotten one ex invitation despite playing almost solely at the gym that has them. I fought mewtwo with about 10 other people there... and I didnt catch it. :/

 

This game has a lot of randomness and luck involved. It’s been this way since it came out on the gameboy. I think the reason people feel “cheated” when they don’t get luck is because you have to physically move from place to place and it seems like such a waste of time to coordinate for Mewtwo just to not catch him. I get most legendaries not having a 100% catch rate, but there is no reason Mewtwo shouldn’t have a 100% catch rate in my opinion.

As far as shinies go I’ve come to terms with the fact that there is absolutely no rhyme or reason to it. Sometimes during these events I get tons of them and sometimes I get none. It’s just the way it is. It sucks but it doesn’t make me like the game any less due to the fact that shinies really aren’t useful in any way other than trade bait.

Make a great curveball throw quest will give you Spinda.

 

I don't know if there's a bigger chance of getting the Spinda quest than before, but yesterday there were 3-4 of them really close.

 

I caught my first today. Definitely easier to find than before!

 

Can’t wait for these stardust bonuses to start, I’ve got over a hundred star pieces just collecting dust in preparation.

 

Been looking for that spinda task but I just keep getting the same ones over and over again.

 

If they were collecting dust, that'd make them useful

 

Lmfao the fact that I didn’t notice that unintentional use of the word “dust” is mind boggling

 

I am starting this event off with 459 stardust. Gonna try not to use any until the end of the week. Real curious to see how much I get
