I disagree with this. There are some very clear developmental processes at certain ages. There are certain films that children at ages 6,7,8 whatever absolutely SHOULD NOT be getting exposed to. My 11 year old nephew is mature for his age and intelligent, but you best believe I’m not going to go watching SAW or Nightmare On Elm Street or Hereditary around him

 

There’s shitheads of all ages in movie theaters. In my experience the worst are old people and also kids under 5, but with the latter it’s the parents fault for letting the kids do whatever they want at the expense of everyone else in the theater

I agree, but being exposed to that content at a certain age does not necessarily equal this outcome. Kids are ready for different things at different ages. Some is based, in part, on development and some is based on parenting.
