Thankfully, this wasn’t that big of an issue. It was a huge problem when Sausage Party and the first Deadpool came out

sure, but since we were talking about children specifically, my point was that it scales up. if they're a disaster in avengers they're going to be one in hereditary as well.

Kids should be allowed to go to strip clubs if their parents give them permission! Who are we to say! They should be able to make that decision themselves, they derserve some fun!

And I want my 9 year old to be at the bar WITH me! Sure, he’ll take a few shots, but hey, it’s nothing he can’t handle. This is the real world, people need to let me parent. I deserve to be a parent. I made a kid, so I make the rules!

Also while we’re at it, how dare the law tell my kids when and when they can’t buy cigarettes. What kind of sick age discriminatory world do we live in!

And they deserve the titty bar next time! Give them the true R rated experience! You’re a bad parent for holding back.

Look, I don’t care how people raise their kids. I knew someone who would let his little kid watch Game of Thrones, not my problem. But I’m trying to run a business here and need to take preventative action to avoid as many problems (and lawsuits) as possible and this is just one measure of doing so.

It was around 7pm. Not sure why that matters here.

You’re completely distorting what I’ve said.

And there’s no law preventing kids from seeing rated R movies, and the ratings are based on (IMO) flawed principles that demonize sexuality, especially female sexuality, and allow for the glorification of violence.

I never said I don’t understand the policy or the reasoning, I just disagree and think it’s shitty.

I know I am! I was being overly sarcastic and over the top just to be a dink because I disagreed with your take.

oh for sure the laws are absurd and the word fuck not being okay but someone getting their head chopped off with a chainsaw being okay is insane, that being said either way no one under like 12 maybe a little older should be at the movies without a chaperone regardless

It matters because it’s one thing to take your kids out while other kids are out and another while the primary audience is comprised of adults.

Just recently I had some parents bring their little kid to a rated R film and they were being a little shit and I had multiple guest concerns about it and someone was like, “I can’t believe you guys even allow little kids into rated R films!” And for the most part, they are right tbh. It is assume that an R film equates to adult time.

I assure that if you worked in the movie industry you would change your mind. 100%.

My opinion on letting kids see R rated movies is this

Parents should and do have the option on allowing their kids to watch those movies at home. I think for R rated movies the parents should watch the movie beforehand to decide if it's a level of violence or adult themes that they think their kid can handle. Taking young kids to an R rated movie shouldnt be allowed. I think the rules are there for a reason and so is the rating system. I do agree that the rating system is flawed and needs to be completely redrawn.

I just keep thinking about the 5 year old that was in the theater to watch hereditary. That movie stayed with me for awhile and I can't imagine watching that at 5.
