Robinson, Miller, Gabriel, Burton, and Shaheen is a good set for that scheme.

  3. when did I say the Bears didn't improve? They improved in the short term but they have a shit QB and we have Aaron Rodgers and that's the biggest difference

I seriously thought Carr would be the first big Raider name to go under Gruden’s watch.

  5. I hope so too because I'm gonna be so fucking unbearable pun intended

They acquired youth. You signed a bunch of 30 year olds. How did the Packers not improve in the short term?

Our defense was above average this year and are only healthier and stronger now.

Is pass rusher the second most important player in today’s NFL?

    QB
    Pass rusher (DE/LB)
    CB
    WR
    S

    ?

I can't believe no one posted this here. I bet he walked into Sean McDermott's office this morning like "why you got me playing unemployment?!"

  12. I think we are on two different planes of thought.

I don't think the Packers are equipped for the future or long term success - their window is the next four years

the Bears are acquiring youth but they just sacrificed a lot of future potential youth for a 27 year old who will be in his 30s when/if Trubisky becomes good.

they both got good in the short term but the Bears defense with Mack doesn't scare me as a Packer fan. There is no defense that can stop a healthy Aaron Rodgers.

I think people have this idea that our defense is still historically bad like it was in 2013, but for the most part, it's only improved each year. We're in the top half of most defensive stats and it wouldn't surprise me at all if they were top ten this year.

  14. it's too bad Mack won't be ready for Week 1 cuz then I'll just hear how the Packers only won because Mack didn't play.

Pass rushers impact the game more. Great pass rushers end opponents drives by themselves on a regular basis. Getting sacked into 2nd or 3rd & 17 SHARPLY decreases the chances of converting for the first. Meanwhile, good offenses can still move the ball even if they have to avoid a certain receiver or part of the field entirely.

Your pass rush also can make your corners play better, because they can take more risks without getting caught out of position, since they have less time / space to compensate for if the QB has less time.

    Fair point

  18. anyways the Packers will just packaged both first round picks to get into the top 10 in next year's draft and pick the young cheap version of Mack :sunglasses emoji:

But why? This makes zero sense.

We have one of the better defensive lines in the league, our linebacker core is above average, and our corners were mostly rookies last year and were already decent and should only be better. Safety is the only position we're thin at.

I don't want to sound like a dick, but this sounds like more uninformed opinions.

We are by no means the first team with a shitty QB and shitty WRs to try to contend for a Superbowl. Too many people focus on that and forget we have a B+ offensive line now, and literally an A+ everything else

You can win with defense and strong runningbacks still in this league. It's the antithesis of how a lot of successful teams want to win. It can frustrate pass heavy teams if you're good enough.

  25. there are literally two maybe three good teams in the AFC
