It’s what their line is built to do. Henry really improved down the stretch last season. They have uniformly strong and well communicating linemen who can push the pile, and a fan base / owner that remembers Eddie George. It’s not by accident they’re building their team the same as the 90s Titans, even down to the fact their QB runs better than he throws and their TE is their primary third down target.

It’d be very smart of them to incorporate zone/read concepts into their uptempo passing offense. For them to diversify in that way would be hard to defend.

But if they did it at the EXPENSE of their power running game... if they stopped keeping it simple / encouraging a strength to be a strength, in order to try all this fancy shit? That could be a huge mistake.

 

But none of what you just said acknowledges the fact that they have a completely different offensive coordinator who has spent his entire career with Kyle Shanahan.

The Titans lacked a pass catching back. And Mariota needs one in the spread offense formations to do what he does best, on third down & four minute drill when they need to make plays. They acquired Dion Lewis, who caught passes for Tom Brady. That is the reasoning that makes the most sense. They are still a power running team, though. And im not gonna read too much into what’s already obvious.

If that new OC tries to flip their identity upside down in one season, they are going to crash and burn and I am going to laugh at them.

How do waivers work in this league? Im used to a FAAB budget so is the order determined by standings or is it rotating based on who made the most recent pickup?

 

Hence why I went for Henry. Cause he gets the rock when they want to win with power Football. Which should still be often. If it is he’s a good third round player, if it isn’t then the OC is a fool haha

I'm open to changing it based on when you last used your waiver priority if people prefer that.

 

More incentive to use your waiver wisely that way, which I prefer.

More assisted league parity the other way, there might be a team or two that gets real unlucky and falls behind because their waiver didnt pan out if it wasn't standings-based. But i think that's part of the game and more reason to try not to bet on the wrong players.

In the future I'd like to explore a FAAB budget because anyone at any time can be top priority if they value a player that much, but you have to do it wisely and not overspend on the wrong talent. It's both fair and challenging.
