totally, if true, i see Killing Joke -> Alk Trio -> Bauhhaus being this years Ministry ->new order->NIN in the sense of lumping similar/influential-on-each-other-in-a-way bands together in a solid block of rock

 

If that's true, that's a HOLY SHIT booking. Not the biggest fan but that's a good get.

 

I noticed that a lot of the bands playing the fest have played Riot Fest Presents shows over the past year, and I'm not super familiar with Bauhaus but I believe there was a show a few months ago with a band that included members of Bauhaus or something along those lines, so that would make sense. We shall see!

 

Just about to say that. Generally another big act plays at the beginning of a headliner. Only time that didn't happen was for the Misfits (I think).

my friend is really excited after dropping the bauhaus news on her. i shall take a listen since i'm more than likely watching them with her.

 

I'm guessing the folks saying Incubus will be Sunday night against them are right... Which would make me pretty happy, to be honest. Haha. I could watch all of Incubus and catch a bit of Bauhaus before heading out.

11am, right? It's gotta be... Which would be nice, because I have a big-ass meeting that ends at 11:30. That'd be nice to walk out to.

Yeah I'm guessing RF tipped them off (and maybe a few others?) so they could get as much exposure as possible after not giving us anything for months.

 

I’ve only ever heard of Bauhaus in discussions of a potential Riot Fest reunion act, but at least it keeps them on brand and is better than just bumping someone else up.

 

Eh. I'm sure they just sent out a press release to a number of news outlets (Chicago local and beyond)... And this particular one just fucked up and sent something out too early.

 

The prospect of a Trio/Incubus conflict pains me.

 

Alkaline Trio at a festival in their home town tho.. plus Incubus will always be back around in another 6 months.. also, they may not overlap as much as you think.

 

Rather see Trio but I know some of my group would much rather see Incubus

 

I have a feeling Alkaline Trio will play the Prophets of Rage slot, and Incubus will play the Paramore slot. I bet they'll conflict, but someone could easily split time.

To certain group of people, Bauhaus is a HUGE get. I have a couple of friends who will lose their goddamn minds if this actually pans out.

Exactly! I texted my cousin who will be in NYC the weekend of the fest and might cancel his trip to see Bauhaus.

 

Also my friend that I'm going with FLIPPED when I told him Bauhaus was the third headliner, so it looks like I'll be staying the entire time, haha.
