Seems like if you’re willing to go to the theater early you can check in for anything. Blackkklansman and MI were both available on my app until 9:30ish AM.

If they’re charging you you should contact your back and do a charge back. Fuck ‘em

I changed the credit card to one with no money on it and saved the emails saying I canceled so I should be good

  6. the only real grip i have with moviepass now is i can't see anymore movies for a couple more days. used up my last of the three a couple days ago.

also, i checked into Alpha Dog this weekend, but bought a ticket for Crazy Rich Asians instead. #rebel

so pretty sure sinemia is the way to go now. 3 movies a month, $10, no random movies available,
i cancelled moviepass and went with their new deal they just announced

Haven't really looked into Sinemia, but how are they not going to crash and burn like MP?

I thought sinemia had some shady stuff like paying a fee to book online but not getting a card anymore and also that $20 joining fee too?

  11. That joining fee is almost as much as MP would refund me for my annual pass.

AMC A List seems like the best deal (12 movies for $20)

but if Sinemia is truly only $10 for 3 movies and there are no hidden fees/sign up costs/other bullshit, I'd do that to have the freedom to go to any theater.

Sinemia is $15 for 3 movies a month - Choose Your Movie Plan

I've been considering switching over but I've been successful in using MP to buy a ticket and walk into any movie I want so far, so I'll keep doing that.

Edit: Actually there is a $10/month plan that I completely missed. I might make this switch.

They have a $10/month plan for 3 movies/month. Right there in the middle of the page you linked.

Since signing up for A-List on Sunday I've already seen Papillon and 2001: A Space Odyssey (IMAX). I still have time to see one more movie on this week's cycle so I'll probably try and see Crazy Rich Asians or BlackkKlansmen tomorrow. Loved what I got from MoviePass in the time I had it, but AMC's guaranteed price point for a year is a great deal. How many people see 144 movies a year anyways?

Sinemia is best deal right now

  18. Debatable. I already have AMC Stubs Premiere for discounts on concessions because I have three of their theaters all in one place near me, two of which often get indies. A-List looks like the most logical choice for me.

I have no deals because no amc theatre near me and it honestly sucks how little I go to movies now :(

Saw Crazy Rich Asians tonight, but checked in to Mile 22. Luckily the ticket verification didn't pop up! If that continues to be the case, I might just keep moviepass.

Sinemia was a pretty bad deal when I checked a couple weeks ago. Guess it changed?

yep it changed yesterday, they going after the moviepass people.

Can anyone definitively explain any sign up fees/reservation fees/any costs above the $10 a month for 3 movies with Sinemia?

I'm leaning heavily towards A-List because 12 for $20 > 3 for $10, but then again the freedom of going to ANY theater makes me want to stick with MP or jump to Sinemia.

There's a $20 activation fee for Sinemia, plus an optional additional expedition fee, unless you're willing to wait a couple weeks, before you start using it. They're no longer mailing physical cards, so there is a convenience fee applied to each ticket purchased via the virtual debit card (this can be waived by using Facebook or similar partner services).
