FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

I had really stopped caring about them at that time. I was late to a TBS/Weezer/blink show and got there halfway through Weezer and remember not caring at all that I missed TBS

Whoa really? That would've been really interesting since Sal's a beast of a musician. I'm glad he stuck with Envy though because we got Lowcountry out of it.

there are a million different factors you can point to as to why new again failed. at the end of the day, it's just not a good album at all.

    Things have changed.

Alex Bars from TREOS was another candidate to replace Fred.

Whaaaat? No way. That would've been really interesting too although I don't think Alex can scream, otherwise he would've been a good fit.

You can point to record sales or the bands personal opinion, but I don’t think it failed. It’s a really good record.

Eddie's new tour/band is really weird and confusing. His new social media pages don't do a good job explaining any of it either.

    what is the vibe?

very true! at the peak of it all, TBS experienced a lot of what My Chem eventually did. if I recall correctly, TBS wanted Rob Cavallo to produce Louder Now because Green Day's American Idiot was so successful. and they just signed with Warner Brothers so they were totally able to afford him. but Cavallo was too busy producing The Black Parade so he couldn't do Louder Now and the rest is history.

I'm still very bummed that the Cleveland show for that tour got postponed and when it was rescheduled instead of having Weezer and TBS as openers it was Fall Out Boy (who I don't care for at all) and AAR.

I think New Again is both their best sounding record and coolest album. An album where they actually attempted something different after 3 records of their tried and true "sound". It was was just terrible timing to come off their biggest album on a major with a more experimental outing.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

I don't think New Again is really experimental at all besides maybe Everything Must Go.

I was at that show and I also was sad it got postponed. And then AAR didn’t even play because Tyson broke his leg

Really? Nine years later and I didn't even know that, haha. I actually got in a really super bad traffic jam (fuck Blossom) on my way there and didn't show up until Blink's opening song. I was also INSANELY drunk that night.

I do recall it being absolutely freezing though. B***D N*w was the next night at Tower City and that was cold, but not as cold as Blossom.

New Again is the most watered down they ever were in their careers, completely stripped away anything that makes the band unique. The songs are dull and boring, it's the band creatively stunted.

This is pretty much on point. It was very bland and straight forward and possibly even uninspired - which is what led me to say yesterday it was a major change in style and sound. It just didn't have a TBS feel to the album at all.

That said, I still enjoy Swing, Carpathia, Where My Mouth Is, Summer, Man, Cut me up Jenny (*ducks*) but the rest of it is pretty forgettable.

and also an album can be super flawed but still contain some of the band's best songs which is why i have affection for it!
