If they wanted to keep up with their image they wouldn't respond to the comments then delete them all. they want to play the snarky asshole social media character but can't face comments from people that are genuinely pissed? Even a response like 'quit whining, it's happening very soon' would be better than deleting.

I definitely see what you're saying but most festivals just don't care. The amount of comments I see on Lolla's post that read "this lineup sucks" or "bring back the 90s" never gets deleted. It'd be better if they just left it alone

 

Eh, this lineup sucks is a little different than "This person on Reddit is spreading your shit!" I don't know. I guess I get the freak out they'd be having as an organization -- whether the info is true or not.

That post also puts them in a fucking weird position because it was basically a conglomeration of a whole mess of negative things people had been saying that may or may not be true. I highly doubt 100% of that post is accurate, but what if some of it is (e.g., the part about not having a solid third headliner yet)? That could look just as bad if they said it was bullshit.

And I can also see why they may not want to ignore the posts completely because of how inflammatory it is.

Everybody reads way too much into all of this shit.

 

I think at this point everyone is so pissed that Riot Fest organizers don't want them to look up the Riot Fest Reddit. The throwaway comment is still there and I'm assuming Riot Fest doesn't want -everyone- (not just loyalist NERDS like us) to start feeding into all the conspiracy theories. Adding fuel to the fire, if you will. Which is likely why they just deleted the comments alluding to the Reddit posts.

I wonder how quickly the people saying they're never going to attend the festival again would retract that statement if this were the case.

In reality, though, if it truly is an "older punk band" sorta deal and they're waiting to see whether it falls through or not? My money is on a group that's a bit more volatile or who needs a bit more convincing.

Although, honestly, at this point... Whoever it is? Hopefully they've been practicing even if they haven't signed yet. Haha.

I'm traveling from Mexico to the festival and I've read Spitalfield is a big deal in Chicago and Gman is a small venue. How early should I be in line if I want to get in?

 

Time is pretty much running out on booking a flight & hotel, so I bit the bullet (because you know, shit is 2 weeks away) and got that taken care of..

yup! i didn't know what to expect with it being limp bizkit and all but hell it was a great show.

 

In terms of volatility? I'm not sure, to be honest. Needing appropriate convincing? For sure.

That being said - How fucking hilarious would it be if Fugazi demanded they not be on the bill until X days before the festival, and that tickets be sold for X amount for X days before the announcement?
