It reaked of "We're here for the $$$, and we just got off our plane like, 20 minutes ago." Haha. It also seemed like they hadn't practiced in months.

Yemin is usually off in his own world, but this was a whole different vibe. It didn't stop me from enjoying the songs, but... It was rough.

I'm still super curious if this means more bands, though!

Well ok if maybe it's really happening soon, I'm making my final prediction for the last headliner, which has been discussed before but I think could actually happen at this point:

It will be Taking Back Sunday.

I think we have to assume at this point that the last headliner isn't anything super special, because they'd turn the whole country against them if they got some kind of awesome reunion but didn't allow people time to plan a trip to Chicago for it. I'm assuming something fell through, so who would they fall back on?They have had a long history with the festival, and if they weren't already scheduled to play in some capacity, then I'm sure it would not be hard to get them on board. They've headlined side stages before and I think pretty much every RF attendee knows who they are. Giving them a headlining slot would honestly warm my heart a little, and I think they'd pack in a pretty good crowd. It just kind of makes sense.

It was me who brought that up before, and I was like, 50% joking. Haha. But you're right - they would be a reasonable back-up if somebody were to fall through. Would it be a little disappointing? For sure. Would I be totally into it, and think it was super fun considering their history with the festival? 105%.

That would also explain why the east coast-centric Beach Rats posted it right at 11am EST/10am CST. Haha.

Taking Back Sunday closed last year and it was a blast. Also, their tour with Coheed this summer was the best they’ve ever sounded, at least in Philly. I’m always down to see them again.

Yea I didn't think it would happen at first, but now I think it would make sense, and honestly I would welcome it for the same reasons you said. Would never have been my first pick, but it would be a fun time without a doubt.

...That decision would undoubtedly piss a decent segment of people off too, haha.

To be fair at this point, just about anyone is going to piss people off unless it's an undeniably awesome reunion, which again I don't think is going to happen.

Even Green Day doing Dookie would piss off a fair amount of "punk purists".

I'm seeing Beach Rats just have one album with five songs, and the longest is less the 2 minutes long. I'm really curious what are they going to play after that

    Whatever. Forever.

TBS as a headliner would fit right into the fun and serviceable category.

Fair point, haha. Although... The people who are going to be "pissed" about shit like that are really just going to be pissed about that anyway. Whether it happens two weeks before the festival. Or two months.

Yeah, I could see them doing a few covers (maybe even a Lifetime song or two). They could also just do 20 minutes and call it that. I'd still be super into it.

I'm crying bullshit. You're citing a specific source, you're actually from Chicago, and you have more than 1-2 posts on this web site? No way are you to be trusted!

I'm joking. But seriously, I hope your GF is right!

I think this is a vote against TBS and headliner #3. If they're pushing this so hard, it's hard to see them hyping up RF in the same day or two. Or I'm just crazy. I guess both can be true.

I hope she's right too, I don't wanna have to be single again :crylaugh:

Her exact words were "I was told it was being announced today, just not what time. The after-shows too." So we shall see haha
