Yeah, single day tickets not being on-sale is strange to me. I've seen festivals put those on-sale even without the day-by-day schedules released... I feel like that would encourage some of the "I can only go on _____" people to take a chance and buy a ticket.

I read a theory that it might have something to do with the Ticketfly settlement, and the theory made sense until you realize that the $99 ticket sale is no longer going on.

Somebody on Twitter asked "where the RIot Fest after shows were at" and they snarkily responded that they are "at different venues around Chicago." So at least that's some sort of acknowledgement... Of something... Really surprised we haven't gotten more info on anything at this point.

You'd think they'd want to give folks something for an announcement. Whether it be food vendors, a site map, etc. I think that's why they've been retweeting all of those contests and giveaways at various locations. To try and distract from the lack of info.

Honestly whoever handles their twitter should be fired. I've seen them be a dick to countless people who were innocently asking a question.

I mean I love their Twitter I’ve always thought it was funny, but it’s not really funny when people are genuinely worried and wondering what is going on. Literally all they need to do is say: “all the info you want is still coming, we are working on finalizing details” and then boom I think a lot of people would calm down.

I saw someone ask in like May "I am hoping to come for the first time, when is the first announcement usually" and they literally quote tweeted telling people to mock them.

    It's really not even funny.

Yeah, that's about where I'm at right now. It's funny/cute/fun when things are running smoothly, or when people are just being a pain in the ass but... At this point, all of the snark is getting to be a bit much.

A simple statement saying "Calm down, it's coming" is all they'd need to make to get people to chill... Or at least, the reasonable people. Haha.

Generally speaking, I find it humorous. Mostly because most of the questions they respond to are ones that can easily be resolved by googling them (including when the line-up generally gets released).

But at this point, where things are definitely not the way they usually are? They might want to take a break from the snark and make a legit statement (even if said-statement is loaded with snark).

Yeah, they could easily fix this with one honest tweet/fb status

If people were asking these questions back in February when nothing about the lineup has been historically known, that's one thing. Snark is fun and appreciated then. However, we're less than 3 weeks away from the festival, and there have literally been no significant details released about the festival since May sans a few small afterparties and aftershows which goes against any timeline they've followed in previous years. At this point, transparency instead of silly snark will earn a lot more good will when there's a lot of smoke indicating there's some kind of fire going on at Riot Fest HQ.

Well this means we are getting the wave today and they must have posted early

Or we were supposed to get the wave today and they didn't realize it was pushed back either way lol

But 11am CT is probably what they were supposed to post and they did 11am est

Though the fact that they posted at 10 am on the dot is inspiring.

I just hope it's not them just getting fed up with their fans not knowing when they will be playing.

They weren't on the lineup yet so it's even more inspiring

    [feigns interest]

It could be just that. Here's a Twitter DM exchange I had with one of the first-wave artists:

Me: Can I ask what day you are playing?
Them: [telling me which day] They gotta be releasing these daily lineups soon.

    This was a week ago.

FUCK YES! THIS IS WHAT I WAS HOPING FOR!

Are Beach Rats on their radar? I'm assuming so, but if not... They really ought to be.

Also? Kinda hoping Lifetime gets added too!

Christ, if Lifetime gets added, I'm cancelling my nonrefundable house hunting trip I have planned. My wife probably won't be happy though.

Have we talked about why their page says "Second wave, more bands, single day schedules, and more coming soon!"
....isn't a second wave more bands? Why would they feel the need to specify that?

FWIW, Lifetime's last Riot Fest set was the definition of a "fuck you, pay me" set. None of them looked like they wanted to be there. Haha.

I mean, unless there's actual rumblings of things going awry... I'm not sure what there is to report? Things are delayed longer than usual, sure, but everything on the Internet is pure speculation as far as I can tell. Hardly worth reporting.

Especially given (as others pointed out) that printing something like that could potentially damage the publications relationship with the festival organizers.

Lifetime is one of my all time favorite bands and that was easily one of the worst sets I’ve ever seen by any band ever. It was so bad.

My gf working behind the scenes told me the daily lineups and aftershows are being announced today for sure. She better not be wrong or we're through.
