Oh good call, I didn't think of looking at Likes.

I really hope it's true. I'm really thinking there will be some additional touring musicians on this upcoming tour including Paul and maybe some of the other MM members.

 

This stuff sounds like a solid progression from the MuteMath sessions. Even if Paul Meany isn’t directly involved, he’s sure influenced them a ton since they’ve toured.

EDIT: I’ve listened to it a couple times and I think it’s pretty cool. Kinda hoping it’s unfinished (the link says Demo) but really sounds like Tyler and there’s a line about Dema so...

Then again I thought Levitate was surely fake.

Hearing so much mutemath influence in that. Paul definitely played a role in the making of this album

 

It hasn't been widely announced but looks like they're playing a show in London (O2 Academy Brixton) on September 12th. "A Complete Diversion"

 

So far every song on this album has had a different musical direction. Amazing sound.

 

I don't think i'll ever get over how cool the bass introduction is in this song.

 

Was so stoked when I saw in the comments on his Instagram post that a new song was out. Was not expecting a new song today. Love it.

 

We’re at 4 songs officially released with like 6 more weeks left until release of album. Kind of hoping they don’t release anything more.

 

Slightly amusing, in this cycle when they release a new song they put it in the "Singles" section on Spotify and the names of the EPs so far are:

Jumpsuit/ Nico and the Niners
Jumpsuit/ Leviate/ Nico and the Niners
My Blood and a Few Others from Trench

The third name feels like them finally realizing it wasn't that good of an idea releasing them bundled + new song but can't do anything about it anymore.

 

Starting to feel like this album is going to drop sooner than expected.

Well fuck me... My Blood is really good. Like, REALLY good! I have a feeling Paul Meany has to have had some role in this album, the new stuff is sonically sounding suspiciously like Mutemath, in the best way.

 

My Blood could literally be on Vitals by Mutemath lol, I fucking love this.

 

If Paul Meany does not have any writing credits on this album I will jump off a cliff

such heavy MM vibes from all tracks. maybe the least on Nico, but everything else.....these songs BLEED (no pun intended) Paul Meany

 

Right?! At the *very* least he contributed instrumentation.

 

So good. This one will be huge. And deservedly so.

 

Nothing this band has ever done has immediately wowed me. I didn't like the band when I first heard their Self-Titled and Regional at Best albums. It took me a while to 'get' them. I grew to absolutely love those two albums. Vessel was pretty much all pre-released material other than 3 songs and those took a long time for me to get into them as well. I remember when Blurryface came out, I didn't really care for it much at first but again it was a grower.

Pretty much all these new songs haven't wowed me either, but I find them more immediately accessible then their past releases. I have no doubt they'll grow on me. I like Jumpsuit a lot more today than I did 3-4 weeks ago.

And this is all coming from someone who has seen them nearly 10 times and have been following them closely since 2011 and consider them a top 10 or 15 band for me.
