Yay, it's Trio week!

 

Mine never do. I always get my pre-orders delivered like a week after release day. Its ANNOYING.

 

I’ve only gotten two early. Blink’s California Deluxe And Hawthorne Heights Bad Frequencies.

Hoping this one does too

 

Skiba joining blink was good for me for two reasons. 1) Blink got to continue and didn’t have to go back in the Disney vault. 2) I dove deeper into Trio’s albums and realized I like Trio more than I ever liked blink.

 

It’s not like the guys weren’t doing multiple projects anyway. Similar age, lots of shared friendships, something to do between Trio stints, and a great way to expose fans to your other bands.

 

There’s nothing like having a new album from your favorite band on the horizon. Friday can’t come soon enough.

 

I seriously can’t wait for this album. I don’t usually get THIS pumped for a new album, at least I haven’t in a while. And then in October the Smoking Popes as well as Justin from Motion City Soundtrack release new albums so I am super stoked!

 

I think I said this already but I can’t remember, vinyl doesn’t ship until late October so don’t get your hopes up unless you ordered a CD

I like that I’ve only heard two tracks too

I want to quote this post, have it engraved in a frame, and present it every time an argument about this topic starts

 

Blink is and always has been my favorite band. I am glad Skiba joined and has kept Blink going in such a powerful limelight again. And I was a fan of Alkaline before that, but I will say his joining blink made me dig into Sekrets and a lot more of Alkalines discography and made me a bigger fan. I am super grateful to have both bands so active

 

Growing up, I got into Trio before I got into Blink, and while I still love both Bands, Trio makes way more sense as an adult lol

 

Saaaame. 11 unspoiled tracks at the ready.

 

I don’t see this. Lyrics about vampires and blood and getting high doesn’t scream “adult” to me. I think both bands fill a similar role in different ways. And I’m glad they’re both still making music.

 

“Draculina” is pretty damn mature.

 

What a cool name. Hah.

 

I like Blink still but obviously love the Trio. I don't really connect with Blink anymore though.

 

Thanks. I honestly think it was a smart Move for Skiba. Hopefully its a long term thing and we see a bump in Trio exposure/love/music.

I mean, after California, we had Deluxe California, and now Alk3 Is This Thing Cursed. Win win win. And if you don’t like any of it, let us who do have our moment.

 

Hahaha I suppose looking at it now, some songs stand out as being darker or more immature but that dark lyricism mixed with the upbeat music was a big appeal to me. Definitely stoked they’re both making music too obviously as they’re both in my top 5. Lately I’ve been leaning more towards Dan-led tracks, his second solo record Party Adjacent is so amazing and really underrated and “Is This Thing Cursed?” is so good.
