I have a rational hated of soccer now because I root for the Spurs, Orlando City, Dortmund, and Genoa.

 

For the 3-4 year olds its "practice" for 30 minutes, and the second 30 minutes is a soccer game. It's pretty much a cluster of kids chasing a ball, and my daughter about 3 feet behind them.

For the 5-6 year olds, they want to actually teach soccer skills and focus on that. Apparently when the kids in my neighborhood hit travel team age, they're no good. So they're hoping to start them earlier on soccer skills... ha.


also, I love soccer growing up.

 

I went to summer soccer camp a few times, it was mostly awful.

 

I'm alone I guess. I was one person who loved playing soccer when I was young. Youth community leagues are really just to get them active and see if they enjoyed it. It wasn't until about 3rd/4th grade when you get into more organized leagues with legitimate coaches that it becomes an actual attempt at the sport.

I would’ve liked it if I wasn’t so bad at it lol. I had no coordination with my feet at the time.

Fun fact: I played a crazy amount of basketball ages 8-13. Then I switched to being a huge football fan and getting really into madden and never switched back

 

I was a part of a flag football team that won our league in fifth grade..

So it basically would translate to the NFL now

 

I never played organized soccer. I ran and played basketball and baseball. Also did a lot of roller hockey in the neighborhood. I never had an interest in soccer growing up and being active was never a problem for me, so my parents never really pushed me to do it. Now, I kind of wish I could do some basic soccer dribbling stuff like you see with a lot of hockey players, but I don't really regret not playing.

 

Also this. I played flag football for a few years and was back to back super bowl champs. Played slot receiver (so block) and the secondary because I was a shorter kid. I had one teammate that eventually got drafted in the NFL, but he didn't last long and was not a superior athlete at the time. He definitely had to work up to it.

 

I think it’s actually illegal for parents to not have teenagers play hockey here

Still waiting on the supposed Randy Gregory bad news to drop but it seems that it's another La Confora bullshit tweet, or at least I hope that's all it was since he's the only person so far saying anything like that.

 

Very occasionally, I think of the dishwasher at Randall and I's old job. He would say things like "Ezekiel Elliott is the next Trent Richardson", "JJ Watt isn't good (not overrated, no he isn't even GOOD), and Odell Beckham isn't a top ten receiver. And then he also said in Carson Wentz's second season, the Eagles will go 14-2 and win the Super Bowl and that they're so good of a team they could do it with Foles.

My all time best prediction I've ever had was while watching a Cowboys/Eagles game a decade or so ago and out of nowhere I told my dad, "They should do a flea-flicker on this drive, you never see those."

He hadn't heard of what that was so I explained it to him and sure enough, three or four plays later they did it.

My mind was blown.

Surprised they got even that for him. He was a terrible second round pick that draft year. Wasn't going to make the team unless there was an injury with the ravens OLB depth.
