I hear Dammit, All the Small Things, What’s My Age Again, Adam’s Song, First Date, Rock Show, I Miss You, and Bored to Death regularly on my local alternative station. Most of the rest of what they play is generic alt rock that I was never as into so I don’t listen a whole lot, but if I do tune in for my commute I know I’ll hear blink at least once during the drive there or back. I also know I’ll hear Three Days Grace, Twenty One Pilots, Linkin Park, and Theory of a Dead Man or something and all this other stuff that isn’t for me, so I generally don’t care to put up with all that for one blink song and one Green Day song.

I know I’m the weird one, but I can’t imagine listening to the radio.

    Full albums for me, please.

The radio here in Chicago sucks. The alternative station mainly plays all the typical Lolla-y bands all day with the occasional Green Day, Blink, Nirvana, etc. That's about it for modern rock/punk/alternative music. I only listened to the radio when my old car's cd player broke with a Descendents cd stuck in it, and had no way to play my ipod, it was brutal times haha

I'm surprised so many people on here still listen to radio.

  9. I haven’t listened to the radio in years. Just sports talk after dodger games and even that I’ll stream from my phone because the audio quality is better than AM radio.

Only time I do is if I forget headphones at the gym. Thankfully I don't let that happen more than once or twice a year lol

Lol I NEVER do. But I’m in a rental car atm. And my siblings (all older) aren’t the biggest fans of my music.

I don’t listen to radio. But it plays in stores and restaurants and I can’t escape it

Same here. I feel self-conscious sometimes because every time I buy a new album I’m like “she probably thinks it’s weird that I listen to the same 12 songs for weeks at a time.”

Then I remember the radio does the same thing except it’s for 6 months and you don’t even like half the songs.

This is kind of true. When my fiancée is in the car I either play a playlist or I utilize Apple Music and pull up an album I know she likes. Because when I’m in the car by myself I’m listening to whatever my newest cd is and listening to the full album (or albums) for weeks on end and i don’t want to overplay it for people who have less patience than I do for learning and analyzing new music

    Things have changed.

I used to be anti-radio then realized firewalling myself off from popular culture was pretty self-sabotaging. Lots of good songs out there!

I think you just need some time to listen to YOUR music for a period of your life before the radio becomes appealing again. When I was young, I had to ride the school bus for like an hour each way and the radio was always playing. I felt like I was being tortured until my parents finally bought me CDs and a player. After being able to escape pop music for a while, I started to appreciate it as I got older - not sure if that's because my tastes changed or the music changed enough for me to like it.

Either way...I do still hate when I enjoy something and it's overplayed to the point where I can't escape it and end up hating it regardless. haha.

See, Holiday being bottom tier is absolutely insane to me lol. I've probably without exaggeration heard it close to 500 times and I still enjoy it just as much as the first time. Probably in their top 10 songs for me honestly and they're my favorite band

My copy of Tony Hawk American wasteland for the DS got messed up and would only play Holiday and one other song during the entire game. Needless to say, I have grown very tired of that song ha.
