That is just a headline. He's obviously not gonna have any huge impact on the story, and whatever he does contribute will be heavily controlled.

I don’t see a problem with it. George has been proven he has the potentional to write good material. Plus, JJ is mostly writing it, it’s probably just him letting George over see it the script and see if he thinks he should edit anything. Nothing big.

 

I like the idea of letting George look over the script and maybe polish some stuff that deals with older characters (if the theories that episode 9 will conclude all three trilogies are true). George doesn’t have terrible ideas. He has good ideas but just can’t execute them or write good dialogue.

 

I personally think it's a great deal of respect to George to have him look over the script and for him to be included in the finale for the characters he created. Without him none of this would be possible.

 

Oh sweet lord no. Bring back Rian Johnson.

 

He might be consulting him on how best to honor Carrie too

 

Does Rian Johnson have any sort of producing role in episode IX or is he laying completely back from IX to focus on his trilogy? He should at least be collaborating with Abrams so that the transition between VIII and IX is smooth in a narrative way.

 

I'm sure he does. Even JJ was a producer on TLJ.

I do think George Lucas deserves his proper due for conceiving one of the greatest ideas in western pop culture. But, at the same time... He had that idea just over 40 years ago, and that world has been generally better off without him since then. I'm not sure he's made something good in the past 30 years? Correct me if I'm wrong.

All that being said, I would honestly be cool with him doing one last Star Wars film as one of those standalone anthology films. I can't imagine a world where he'd want to, and I wouldn't hold my breath quality-wise. But, I'd be interested in what he'd do in this world without any expectations. Like, even that goofy, weird micro verse concept he was talking about. As long as it wouldn't hurt pre-existing material the way the prequels did. It'd be fascinating to me as a creative endeavor.

 

They’re already shooting IX... can’t imagine there’d be much room to implement any changes GL makes. Especially cuz he’d probably want to rewrite the whole thing haha

 

yeah dont believe hell have any say on the "story" as if JJ would change sets/schedule/etc.. theyve been planning for months. Lets not forget the Director and the Jedi and how many moving parts are in place. The script has probably been done and everything has been planned. Its probably just the equivalent of having him proof-read it to make sure the creator of all of this didnt absolutely hate it. As somebody said, its a nice gesture.

 

She is just wonderful... I’m so excited to see her in 9 and beyond

 

This was beautiful thanks for posting. I’ve fallen even more in love with her. Just as Rose was written to be the light in Star Wars for Finn to learn what being a true hero is and fighting for a cause bigger than yourself, Loan is also doing that in the real world. I’m so glad she is a part of Star Wars. I’m happy that this whole
shitty situation has seemed to motivate her even more to be who she is and be more outspoken and fight against bigotry.

I think it’d be awesome if she officially changes her name back to Loan.

Ya know I was hoping that Rose was more in background just because there’s so much do to in this last movie of a trilogy but fuck it. I want Rose to be as involved as the main cast. She’s more than a maintenance worker. She’s basically a tech genius in the books who invented shit that nobody has before. That alone is basis enough to give her a big part in the Rebellion and on an adventure with the rest of the cast. She could do so much but I just hope to Mortis she’s not reduced to Finns love interest.

Come on JJ!

 

Star Wars 9 to Wrap Shooting in February 2019

TLJ took 5 months to shoot and wrapped filming over a year before the premiere date. EP9 will be Wrapping in February and Premiering in December of the same year. With Star Wars Celebration '19 in April, they will likely begin the rollout of this movie almost immediately after it's done filming, which seems crazy (in a good way).

Also leaves me with little hope that we will get any title reveals before SWC.

 

Also if there’s not that much Rose in the movie I cant promise i won’t say the movie was low on Loan.

 

I can't even fathom the mind of someone who would be upset about her casting/role in the film. It's a whole new level of ignorance.
