    "I'll chew on a dog!"

Maybe it's because they know we're suffering from a lack of updates.

Honestly the only thing they can do to reconcile how I feel about them at this point is give me:

    Thursday:
Bouncing Souls at House of Vans

    Friday:
    The Wonder Years at Concord

    Saturday:
The Early November at Beat Kitchen

    Sunday:
    Alkaline Trio at Metro

oooh dream scenario aftershow game. Not from Chi, so i dont know the venues.
    Thurs: Fear + Conflict
Fri: Matt & Kim + andrew wk
    Sat: Superchunk + The Frights
Sun: Alkaline trio + Bouncing souls (would also accept a Souls headline show)

I'm just really hoping there isn't a Thursday night Alkaline Trio pre-show that conflicts with the Spitalfield one.

    .
That Spitalfield show caps at 150 people. If you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go get in line now...

My real hope is that they never announce the mystery headliner, it really ends up being Green Day playing Dookie, and it's all a part of a grand effort to re-tool Riot Fest into a festival that sports a third "mystery" headliner every year to sell tickets off of pure hype. A lottery ticket kind of festival, if you will.

And we all get to do this all over again together, year after year.

You know what? I wasn't thinking about this in combinations. Some combination of Matt & Kim, K.Flay, or Andrew W.K. would be fantastic.

And an Alkaline Trio/Bouncing Souls aftershow would make my head explode. Still holding out hope for some Lagwagon/D4 action, though...

  10. I never did get an email about how to claim that. Guess I should figure that out this week.

I definitely never got this email, but the link worked.
Perfect, thank you! Is there also a link for the discounted 2019 tickets?
Edit: it was in the confirmation email for the single day pass. Thanks again!

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Okay, so maybe the third headliner isn’t Green Day playing Dookie, but maybe Green Day playing a strict old-school set?

    They posted THIS now...

I'm honestly on board with just keeping the third headliner a mystery at this point. Would be pretty fun to speculate all weekend, though really disappointing if it ends up being nothing exciting.

It's a super nerdy thing, but the whole Alkaline Trio/Bouncing Souls/Hot Water Music friendship thing gets me every time I get to see it in action or pick up on it in their songs. It's rare, but when it goes down? It makes me super happy.

I remember watching Matt Skiba sit on the front/side of the stage for the Bouncing Souls set at Warped Tour in 2010 (2011, maybe?) and being so so excited to watch him singing those songs.

    So yeah. That would rule.

I'd be down for that too! My one hesitation in thinking this might be the case? Green Day is exactly the kind of band who would spend time fucking around in a practice space just to see if they can go back and play an entire record... For themselves. They're also being just vague enough about the posts to make people wonder/get people talking without actually saying anything. If there was a "announcement coming soon" or "Wouldn't it be cool to hear those songs?" thing tied to the caption I'd be more sold.

But the fact that it's now been three different old school albums...

It could literally just be them having fun. Or it could be preparation for some tiny-ass club show in San Francisco that they'll be announcing for a benefit or some shit. Or it could be them trying to figure out what made those records so special... To capture it on the next album.

Or it could be them getting ready for a Dookie tour in 2019 and wanting to bill it as Dookie (plus other old school favorites). Or it could be preparation for an old school set or something at Riot Fest...

Obviously, I'm hoping it's that last one. Haha.

If they keep the headliner a mystery, and don't announce them until the day/weekend of... I think Green Day is literally the only option that wouldn't be even remotely risky in terms of people being bummed it was them.

It would certainly add to the circus theme to have a whole crowd gathered for a reveal of a final headliner.

If they were doing that I still think we'd have single day lineups at this point

I'm really not sure what to make of any of this. Except that they're certainly pressing all of this hard with local promotions, etc.

I think the bit that confuses me the most is the lack of daily line-ups... You'd think, at this point, it would help assuage everybody's concerns if they just released a day by day with a bunch of question marks.

Young the Giant announced a new record today, Mirror Master, out October 12th.

Also, they're playing Grandoozy in Denver on 9/15 and play Bethlehem, PA, on the 18th as the start of their tour, so they're playing Riot Fest on Sunday.
