Seeing that movie for the very first time and in theaters is the way it was meant to be seen. They don't call it the ultimate trip for nothing. No other movie can quite give you the same sense of awe and wonder that 2001 provides imo.

 

Enter The Void sure tried. I did see that one on the big screen the first time I saw it and it was definitely a movie that wanted to achieve the same sort of stargate sequence type of trip.
