Indeed. I think the whole season aired already, even though they started airing in mid July. Maybe they were doing two episodes a night or something.

I finally encountered a theater that tries to make you pick your seat. Seeing an independent film on a Wednesday at 3:15 and having to choose a seat like you are watching some major event is weird. I picked a random seat and sat where I wanted.

It is not my usual theater, but if it comes around here I would probably not go. It completely ruins the spontaneity.

 

That's like, 90% of the theaters here for the last 5 years. Weird to think that isn't the norm tbh, hah

 

if i have a choice between reserved seating and open seating, i’m going reserved.

 

It can be nice for a busy showing but I also like going to the cheap old theater with crappy loud seats that you don’t reserve in advance

 

I've never encountered a reserved theater but it seems enjoyable. I get all pressured looking for a seat when I get there lol

 

I think reserved seating makes sense with reclining seats

I am always anxious when it's unreserved that I'll pick the wrong seat, like someone walking by would think this stupid motherfucker wouldn't know a good seat if it hit him in the face

It's good if you're buying tickets in advance for a showing with a decent sized crowd. Downside is you can't just move away from people if you don't want to be near them

 

Do they adjust pricing based on the supposed desirability of the seats? If they don't do that, I would imagine it will come sooner or later.

 

I enjoyed reserved seat theaters. I can order my ticket at home and get last row dead center and know I’m set.

 

Saw Joe Mande eating at the same restaurant as me today. Nobody else I was with knew who he was, but then another friend showed up a few minutes later and was nonchalantly like “oh yeah I went to high school with him” lol

 

Of all the things in the world, the theater experience is one that has consistently gotten worse throughout my life. When I was a little kid they never had car or soda commercials, then I had to start paying for it myself, then I couldn't eat all the movie junk food, now I have to navigate a seating chart.

Get used to it cause reserved seating is what every theater will be eventually

I have the perspective of someone who has managed in both a theater with and without reserved seating and for me the former is far superior. And the one I worked at that didn’t have it was getting ready to convert. I sort of assumed it was just ubiquitous at this point
