yeah I feel like 7 or 8 is when I started getting bullied, I don't what happens at that age where they get mean, I guess trying to be cool or something

Let's not define kids as people by their actions. Just because a child acts mean in a certain situation doesn't mean they are a mean person, and labeling them as such can be detrimental to their development and allow them to justify similar actions in the future ("I can't help it, I'm just a mean person.")

But there are lots of reasons why kids act mean. Some of it is learned behavior (from parents/caregivers and other children), some of it stems from not being able to properly understand and/or communicate their feelings, and some of it comes from a lack of empathy: they use what's different about that person, or that person's actions, to justify making fun of them because they've determined their feelings don't "count".

Mostly, though, it's on the parents/caregivers to be aware (or be made aware) of these actions and take steps to acknowledge their child's thoughts and feelings, but to teach them to put themselves in the other kid's shoes to recognize how that makes the other kid feel and to think of better ways to express themselves and/or address the situation.

 

Make sure you ask every customer if they noticed your zit.

 

Kids are funny. People that don’t like kids are weird.


Do I like all kids? Hell no. Do I like all people in general? Absolutely not.
