Notes for people that can't listen...

    - Says he's pretty sure "She's Out of Her Mind" is going to be the next single. It's simple but they kept rewriting the chorus.
    - "Rabbit Hole" probably won't be a single, but he thinks it'll be a fan favorite. It's fast, energetic, and about standing your ground. Says they wrote it really quickly.
    - "Home is Such a Lonely Place" is about letting people go. Not so much a sad love song, but about your kids leaving the house.
    - "Sober" was written with Patrick Stump. "I'm a dandelion, you're a four leaf clover" is a lyric. Matt's verse is about getting hit by a car, Mark's verse is about a drunken night with a girlfriend.

  2. A liiiiittle bit of new info, but I wish people would ask about some of the other songs that haven't been discussed yet. But I wonder if these interviewers were actually given the whole album to listen to, or if they've all only heard the same five or six songs.

Either way, it was a great interview! So stoked for this to come out. I can't believe it's already less than a full month away!

I'm too psyched for the acoustic performances to be impatient for a new song now. There will be PLENTY of blink going on the next 4 weeks.

I'd say after listening to this interview that Sober is the song I want to hear the most so far.

    Here's a discussion point:

Can you recall where you were when you first heard each blink album? I'll even accept the first time you heard a new blink single for the first time.

Dude Ranch: I had a friend who listened to all sorts of music. I noticed the revolver looking CD in his massive CD wallet and asked about it. He couldn't even remember what it was. I popped it in and wasn't sure how I felt about it right away. I loved MxPx, and I was just getting my feet wet in the world of (pop) punk, so I was determined to hear it through. I got to Dammit and it started to click of course. I went back to Track 1 again, and it all made sense. I remember sitting in my friend's room, which was up in the attic of this old Victorian home, while he was on the phone with a girl. I pretty much kept that CD (indefinite "loan" and I still have it) since he didn't care about it. I wasn't a huge fan even at that point, but I kept them on my radar.

Enema: What's My Age Again came on the radio. Back then, of course, the radio was oftentimes the first time you'd hear a new song. I couldn't believe it was the same band that I heard off Dude Ranch. I was 16. I was just laying on my bed with the clock radio playing that song. My girlfriend was sitting at my desk, and I told her "These guys are going to get so big now." I was right of course, but I still underestimated how big they'd actually get.

TOYPAJ: I heard The Rock Show while driving in my car. I remember the exit ramp I was on the moment it started. It was so damn catchy. I remember thinking "Fuck, they did it again." I bought the album the day it released, while on vacation, at Tower Records in San Francisco. I'm from Ohio, so the whole vibe of CA and that album for the next few days is something I'll never forget. I was with a bunch of friends from high school for a school trip, so about five of us all bought the album that day. We each bought different versions to share the bonus tracks. We discussed the album on drives, at dinners, and on the plane back to Ohio. I can still remember each kid I was with and what their favorite songs were in that moment.

Untitled: I was in college and working at Circuit City (yup), and I bought the album in the store after my shift. I was dating a girl (who I'm now married to). I remember just sitting in my car in the parking lot and listening to it entirely. I got to her house and played her some of the standout tracks. That album will always remind me of the girl I broke up with shortly before it released and the girl I had just started a relationship with, who I eventually married. It kind of helped me put the past behind me with my last relationship.

Neighborhoods: I was married, living in my first house. I remember coming home from work and telling my wife that blink had a new single airing on the radio and I'd listen to it on my iheart app. I shut the door to our room, popped on my headphones and jumped into bed. I listened to Up All Night for the first time in the moment. Of course, Neighborhoods never resonated with me like their other albums, but I'll always remember being in our old house and taking it all in for the first time. I'll always associate it with my earlier years of marriage (in a good way).

California (Bored to Death): I'm now in my second house, and I have a two-year old son. My wife started his bath, and I told my wife I was going to stream KROQ on my phone with headphones for a few minutes. I wanted to make sure she was OK with that because she was seven months pregnant with our second child, so I always make sure she's doing OK with physically handling our toddler in the moment. She didn't mind at all. I went into my son's room and started getting his bedtime clothes and books together while listening to KROQ. Bored to Death came on. I did the best I could to focus despite my son talking loudly in the next room. As I was opening a drawer to get his PJ's, the bridge started and I paused in that moment. I loved it. My wife and son barge in to the room right when it's ending. She kind of smiled even though I could tell she was a bit winded. I grabbed my son from her and told her to put her feet up. She asked how the song was. "Pretty good!" But I shut everything off and told her I'll replay it on YouTube later, and I grabbed a copy of Green Eggs & Ham to read to my son before bed.

California will release a week or two after my daughter is born. So, I'll always associate that album with her entering my life. I can't wait.

  15. It was such the perfect follow up to Good Mourning too, I refer to Crimson as goth pop and everything about it is great. I'm so happy I got to see Crimson played front to back at past live.

Now I Know This World Isn’t Spinning Just For Me Prestigious

Before I recount these albums, I must recount how I found out about Blink-182. I mentioned it some ways back on this forum. Shortly after untitled came out, I was in high school and just beginning to actually listen to music(I didn't really listen to much before that except some hip hop and linkin park.). I had to do a PowerPoint project in my computer class and I was given the topic of rock bands from the 80s to now. I didn't know many, except the classics everyone talks about. But my best friend was a giant blink fan, and I'd heard him talk about them so I made a slide for them. Downloaded a couple songs by them to listen to when I was making the slide. STFTK was the first song I played and I was instantly a fan, and my obsession grew even though they broke up not long after. Also owe my fandom of this band for meeting my fiancé, as we both noticed eachothers blink tattoos at a gas station and that's what caused us to start talking and go on a date. Anyway...

Enema: Borrowed this album along with Dude Ranch, Buddah, and MTT Show from my blink fan friend. I actually still have them whoops. I had these CDs on rotate for months, and I use to jam with them in my car with my at the time girlfriend.

TOYPAJ: as I said earlier, STFTK was the first song I heard by them. I remember hearing it and just being blown away by how good of a song it was. I also ended up buying this album as my first blink album, and downloading the bonus tracks not on my copy. I remember going on an 8 hour road trip with my family, and this was the only CD I had in the car so I had it on repeat, never got tired of it.

Untitled: This album was out just as I got into blink, however I didn't get to listen to it except I Miss You and Feeling This until they broke up. Feeling This to this day is my favorite song not just by them but overall, as is this album. I too seperated from my high school girlfriend at this time and this album helped me move on, and to look to my future relationships. I remember Cleveland,OH snowy nights driving around with friends and listening to this album and all of singing along to it. My fiancé and I also plan to have Always be our introduction song at our wedding reception.

Neighborhoods: I was in a steady relationship with my now fiancé when this came out. We both happened to be off the day up all night was released, and we went into her room and laid on the bed, put it on her computer and experienced it together. We both loved it and love neighborhoods. I am partial to Natives, and she swears by even if she falls as her anthem(even has the song title tattooed on her arm). It was also when we both got to see them live together for the first time shortly after the album came out, and we had the album on repeat the entire 3 hour drive to Atlanta. They filmed the hearts all gone video at that show so I always associate that song with that night. Also, I brought this CD into my older brothers car to show him when we unfortunately had to make an 8 hour drive to our hometown for my uncles funeral. At 4am I was behind the wheel and exhausted and nervous because I was driving his van and it was raining. This album calmed my nerves.

California (Bored to Death): I had been tracking the release of this song for weeks on chorus and through social media. It dropped finally one night when I was at work. As soon as I got home that night, we did just as we did for up all night and played it on the computer in our bedroom, and both loved the song. We were gifted VIP everything's gonna be fine packages for the upcoming tour shortly after, so this song and album will resonate with us as when we got to meet 2/3rds of our favorite band.

    Honorable mentions:

AVA(WDNTW): Heard The Adventure in the car on my way to pick up my tux for prom. Loved the song. Went and bought the album the day it came out with the same best friend who showed me blink.

+44(WYHSB): Heard Lycanthrope in a Tony Hawk Game, and WYHSB on the radio. Literally drove with a suspended license in a snow storm go a mall with my friend to buy it on the release day.

I honestly don't know, In photos it appears that at least some of the pit might be covered, but I can't tell if that awning is for practical or decorative purposes.

Found out about blink from MTV. WMAA playing while I was on vacation in myrtle beach. Bought Enema that night at an outdoor mall. Loved it so much it didnt take long for me to pickup Dude Ranch, Cheshire and Buddha.
TOYPAJ came out during finals week in HS, didnt do so hot on that one science exam. Self-titled came later in HS and had my first makeout sesh during Always. Perfect. Neighborhoods came out while I was driving to work and nearly crashed my car because I was so jealous my one friend listened to it before I did. Now California will be released during the most meaningful relationship of my life and hope it makes this summer amazing as I suspect it will. Going on our first real vacation together in Miami next month and really hoping it's the soundtrack to that.
