Alkaline Trio - Is This Thing Cursed? (August 31, 2018) Album • Page 29

  1. Yeah, we’re definitely on the younger side as far as Trio fans (although she doesn’t actually listen to them much). We’ll probably just chill off to the side.

Yeah you should never take anyone into crowds like that unless they’re 100% comfortable with it.

I always stay near the lighting/sound booth at the HOB in Boston. There's two steps before the pit, and I usually stand on the middle one. Doesn't get too crowded, and is close to the bars/bathrooms, haha

  4. my favorite spot in any venue:

as close to the front as i can get, but off to the right or left sides.

    pros:
    no (or very little) pushing
    no crowd surfing
you're still really close to the band

    cons:
    there aren't really any

My favorite spot in any venue is on my couch at home.

    Things have changed.

The best spot at a venue is right by FOH.

I'm a lawn man at this point. If it doesn't have a lawn I bring my own sod to sit on

    No Fun. Not Ever.

Depends on the type of show I'm going to. But for the most part, I'm up front in the pit.

  10. If for whatever reason I get pulled up onstage at a show, and they ask me to say my name into the mic, I'm saying ligma.

  11. i haaaaate lawn seats. if i pay for lawn seats then i might as well just stay home and watch youtube videos because you are too far away to feel like you're really part of the show (at least at the amphitheaters i've been to) and if it's an energetic band, or a band i love, the last thing i want to be is the furthest away from the action as possible.

but i will say... i was perfectly happy having lawn seats for Dave Matthews Band a couple summers ago. it felt right in that setting.

99% of the time I hang out by the sound booth, makes the most sense logically for the best sound!

YEP. Every time I am meeting up with people at all stages except main for Choachella, it's "meet in front of the sound booth." Not only does it sound the best, but there is more space due to no one pushing up from behind

I'm guessing my top 50 songs on Spotify will probably be like 45 Trio/Trio-related songs this year hah

Just based on how hard I binged them around the Past Live release and now lol

Yeah without a doubt they’ll be my most listened to artist of the year

Past Live, break up, excitement for the show and new album all required a lot of listening haha

Interesting note, I was watching that acoustic Voices video Matt did, and in the interview part he mentions Cameron Webb produced Babylon (no Wikipedia page and I bought it digitally so I never knew that)

So, the Philly show was pretty special ! We took our 8 year old up front on Dan's side. It was his first time being up front, security came over and picked him up and let him sit where they usually stand at the barricade in front of the stage ! During the course of the stage Dan came over and pointed at him and flipped a bass pic over to him and also made a point to give him the set list !

Also, Matt gave everyone the cold shoulder after the show and rushed out. Dan came out and apologized and seemed pretty agravated with Matt about it.

It is after the show and in reality bands aren’t required to entertain and meet you when it’s all done. I always give artists and bands credit who do it after though.

Maybe he had a place to be. Sounds like Dan made up for it!

He absolutely did make up for it ! I do think things have changed since he's joined Blink, more people looking for him and all that stuff.

Me and my buddy asked Dan when they were coming back and Dan just got flustered and didn't know what to say. He said he wants to do another tour at some point after the album drops.
