I'm pretty sure there's a ton of albums that had messy rollouts and were album to be promoted well due to proper funding from labels.

Edit : in spite of the messy rollouts

  2. That is not what this is nor what you said. If you think people are cranking out this much multimedia content, daily, combined with physical media and billboard ad buys, and full video treatments and shoots — "in no time" — you have no clue what you're talking about. And I say that nicely, not in a mean way, it's just that you don't know what you're talking about. That does not happen.

I think the album release being moved from October to November is being blown so far out of proportion it’s laughable

The one month delay (even though it never had a confirmed release date) is cool with me so they can perfect this thing. I’m tired of albums getting fucking patch notes in 2018

I’ll never understand people complaining about auto tune, context is everything. Almost as perplexing as the complaints towards GYAT’s guitar. Song is great, this band is really something else.

  9. That's what they're putting out ... a coordinated campaign across multiple social networks (and in the physical world) using various multimedia aspects ... on a daily basis.

No, you can not do what they are doing "in no time." You cannot get all of this content together "in no time." It takes a lot of coordination and time to do this. If you think you can do this in mere hours or even days you should call any mediocre digital marketing agency and they will give you hundreds of thousands of dollars right now to produce all these videos, teaser videos, images, billboard and social media ad buys, merch, posters, fan packages, postcards, email newsletters, and time it with music and video releases. This is something people have been working on for a while, it's not just done "in no time" with no thought or organization behind it.

Hm, wondering how much of this album I’m going to be into.

  13. The 1975 forgoing an entire touring cycle for an album, basically to get a second one done and released a few months later, makes me wonder which they push the most for the upcoming tour. That's so rare to do. Building hype and then having to pause and do it again ... and then that second time being the big tour push.

I stopped listening to Foxing for like 45 minutes for this, and the fact that I stopped at all is a testament to how good this is

Co-sign. Especially for a band this big. It can take days for our creative team to get approval on a single created image to go on an artist’s Twitter. Forget the music videos completely; I can’t actually count the amount of content they’ve created for this album rollout, from IG Story teasers to website changes to promo photos to the lyric sheets. This marketing rollout is the work of a well-oiled creative machine that is either linked directly to the band for feedback or has been planned, created, and approved for close to 6 months out from each moment.

It makes the most sense to me if you figure that they’ve been exhausted after the last few tours. I think about how visibly beaten up Matty’s been, and a move like this gives them the ability to get back into their creative bag where they clearly feel the most comfortable.

they probably had a ton of songs and decided they didnt want anything relegated to just b-sides or EP's since the songs they have are that good

The Spotify vid for TOOTIME solidified in my mind that the band is finally at the point that they are unabashedly themselves and are only trying to prove to themselves what they’re capable of.

They seem at peace and hungry at the same time.

Lol @ comments on their Facebook and various other social media accounts...like, at least try to describe why it's "trash", and "this isn't the band I knew from 2013!" does not count.

Maybe it's just the level of "different," but this song doesn't feel vastly out of the ordinary for them to me. I dig it though.
