Deliverance is still a banger but this certainly didn’t hold up

Deliverance isn't the one that stands out to me

Really it's the whole second half of the album

Yeah Every Open Eye was definitely one of my top albums that year, and this one was pretty forgettable. I think something about every song having a chorus thats just like too bending over backwards catchy? I feel like most of the choruses have a repeats one line a ton of times (get out geT OUT get-get-get out, Neverevereverevereverevereverever say die). I feels like too safe/too radio poppy or something. Pretty huge disappointment even though its just an average album.

I defer back to my own paragraph here for my feelings on the album, I agree with you @AWasteOfATime but I do still enjoy the album

    yeah good okay Prestigious

Giving it another listen after the bump in this thread and I still mostly feel the same. A few songs that are a cut above everything else, a bunch of decent to boring songs, and then stuff I would never go back to.

There's just something about the record that feels held back.
I do LOVE that theyve added a live drummer though.

Graves is great, Wonderland is great, Heaven/Hell is great, the three that Steve hates are good

And Miracle is the bad one

Show was fantastic tonight. It was the same as the set they’ve been playing + Really Gone and Deliverance

Another great show, but pretty bummed at only 3 songs from Every Open Eye. I know it's a tour for the new album, but I wish it was a bit more even'd out. ALSO, the fact that they did two Martin songs in a row, and neither was High Enough To Carry You Over led to quite a dull spot in the set. The audience wasn't as into the set as previous shows of theirs I have been to, show wasn't sold out, a fair amount of people left early, a bit of a bummer

Wow, kinda glad I didnt drop a ton of cash on that one then. Its always a bummer when a great band drops a not so great album and then still has to tour it.

9 Love is Dead, 6 Bones, 3 Every Open Eye. PLUS, they didn't play Heaven/Hell or Wonderland which are two standouts from the album :tear:

Idk if I posted it in here but I ran into Martin at the Phoenix show last week and was telling him about how much I liked them on Comedy Bang Bang, and the piano versions of the new songs. He said they actually recorded a few slower piano versions of the songs and would be releasing them at some point with some other stuff, either an EP or a deluxe version of the record. Super nice dude.
