Five Cups is an excellent driving song. Was listening to it on a kinda meandering drive in heavy rain on sunday and it was such an awesome moment. Tbh I feel bad that I ranked any of these songs below top 3 on the album lmao

Just back from seeing foxing and Pianos Become the Teeth. And WOW. JUST WOW! What a show. Pianos Become the Teeth were down as the headliners but strangely it was foxing who headlined. Well, I say strangely but after about 5 seconds it wasn’t “strange” at all. Foxing absolutely fucking killed it. Insane live. I thought pianos were incredible tonight but somehow foxing topped it and then some. New songs sounded massive live! What a band! Also. Check out kamikaze girls. They were great too!

I like Crown Candy a lot. Its flawed though with a couple of odd choices. Love the chorus vocal melody alot.

Any guesses as to why Lich Prince has an 'explicit' label but Slapstick doesn't?

 

Crown Candy gives me a tiny bit of Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Colie vibes. Idk if thats off base.

"Nearer My God" and "Grand Paradise" are my favorites.

 

My favorites are over half the album so idk yet haha.

I guess the greatest standouts are Grand Paradise, Gameshark, Lich Prince, Five Cups, and Won’t Drown

 

I dont really like Bastardizer or Dillards at the moment but thats it

"five cups" is like an inverted dealer song, where the coda takes more precedence than buildup. that's kinda why it's great imo

 

thinking it should be trimmed is almost beside the point

 

i love the intensity of the first half of the album. It has a similar feel to how i remember when science fiction was in my rotation.

 

btw shouts out to my new favorite song from this album, trapped in dillard's

 

every time I listen to "crown candy" I feel secure in comparing this album to neon bible
