    Things have changed.

Rise Against is markedly bigger than AFI in the present day, so definitely doesn't approach co-headline.

I know rise against is bigger but I thought afi would get a slightly longer set because they're afi. I would have been disappointed if I went to this tour

I think AFI could have gotten like 10 min more at my date but I guess they also wanted to give Anti-Flag a substantial set.

Look AFI should be playing at least an hour and then rise against should be hour and a half.
Ive heard a lot of people disappointed the lack of time AFI is getting. its kind of crazy

they played 16 songs when i saw AFI at riotfest in 2013. At most it was an hour and they got all those songs in. If i went to this tour and only saw 10? I'd be disappointed. 10 AFI, 10 Anti-flag... that's warped tour level of set length

(edit; im looking at the riofest setlist.... yeah, that's what i meant about why i cant see AFI again. That set list was the BEST set list i'll ever get ever again. I have no need to see them again haha)

That’s kind of how the incubus/JEW tour was last year. Jimmy had about 15 songs if I remember correctly and was pleasantly surprised with how long of a set they got for a support slot. In this scene it’s good to just expect the main support act gets about 8-11 songs

I feel like for a headline gig afi needs to play for 1:45? On this they need to play an hour... why they play such short sets for headline gigs?

1:45 is far too long for an AFI set, y'all have some unrealistic expectations sometimes.

1:45 is long for a lot of bands

Foo fighters play for 2 and a half every night. And a aftershow they played for lolla in Chicago last year they played for 3 hours and 20 min their longest set ever

I’m thinking of smaller bands who play at venues like the house of blues. I’d say 1:15 is pretty average for what I see

Saves the Day played a 5 hour set once.

Every band should play 5 hour sets.

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

It really just depends on the band honestly.

Some bands can’t handle more than 60-90 minutes because of the energy or intensity they put into their sets.

It also depends on the length of the band’s songs too. Coheed playing 2 hours makes sense since they have plenty of songs that go past the 5 minute mark.

AFI playing like an hour set isn’t surprising.

Not many bands are gonna wanna play 3 hours, unless they’re Guided By Voices, or Pearl Jam apparently

Genre is a factor too. Incubus was awesome and played 2 hours when I saw them. Primus does 2 full sets when they don't have an opener and it's always a blast. But I think a lot of Punk, Hardcore, Metalcore, etc. bands would be weird to watch play for more than 70-80 minutes.

    Sending my love

Long shows doesn’t always mean great shows. Sure, there are lots of bands that I wish would play a bit longer or a couple songs, but I don’t think I want to see my favorite bands play much longer than two hours. Sometimes it just goes on too long. And I’m someone who does a lot of jumping and dancing during shows, even I don’t have the energy for much more.

Green Day often plays close to three hours. I love their shows, but sometimes there are only so many “Hey Oh’sssss” you can handle. I remember on the 21CB summer tour, somewhere in the middle hour where they had been playing covers for almost 30 straight minutes, I looked at my friends and said “Ok, let’s speed this thing up”.

Good Apollo album is 72 mins, three song encore was 20... 92mins.

Yes, for Second Stage they did in fact do a three hour set.

What do these shows have in common? They were part of the Neverender tours where they were longer sets

Genuine question, when was the first time you saw AFI and how many times have you seen them?
