re: Cam- I very much think that if Industry People know more than us, especially if they have concrete proof that someone is innocent or guilty, they're responsible to share that. I just don't get it. Tired of all of these people who get off on "knowing the truth," but always have some arcane reason why they can't just talk about it. When people's livelihoods are on the line or people are at risk of being victimized, speak up. This scene is like playing the most complicated game of telephone all the time. At a certain point, you have to stop caring about being the one with the most clout and caring about the people who are hurt by all of the secrecy surrounding these stories.

“Silence is very, very powerful. When someone they’ve worked with and are promoting to their followers turns out to be an abuser, they have a responsibility to warn the young women who follow them and not stay silent,” she said.

  13. Another day, another stunningly clear message to survivors that for abusers, life is an episode of whose line is it anyway: consequences are made up and nothing we say matters.

Of all the accusations floating around, I am consistently flabbergasted that R. Kelly hasn't had everything taken from him and rotting in jail. I would say he is by far the most high-profile abuser to have been outed in the music industry and it's so well known that it was frequently used for golden shower jokes for years. Then he had the audacity to write a fucking 20 minute song about it.

the r kelly thing has been such an open, well known thing for so long youd think that as the culture has been changing he'd be one of the first to be taken down but, thanks to moves like spotify reversing their hateful content policy after applying it to him, he's been able to continue his career as normal. please dont ever try and tell me accusations ruin careers

it's nuts that his defense strategy of simply denying guilt despite the video evidence of him with the underage girl was so brazen and infamous that it has its own Wikipedia page

    .... and he was acquitted.....

  18. That's why I do my best not to engage when the "where's the proof" brigade rides anymore. There's no such thing as proof for people who are determined to pretend there's no problem. They could be IN THE ROOM and still be like "I don't know what I saw, where's the proof".

Like I mentioned I found it very telling when it first came out that Minaj was a piece of shit that rather than see people actually address the issue, all I saw was people quietly stop talking about her. Still find it amazingly gross.

  21. fan punched by Social Distortion’s Mike Ness says it was over Trump comment
Tim Hildebrand of Galt, CA spoke with CBS Sacramento about the incident; according to him, he was attacked for disagreeing with Ness’s politics. Hildebrand, a Republican and Trump supporter, told CBS he was given “two black eyes, a busted lip, a concussion,” and nearly had a tooth knocked out by Ness. Hildebrand continued, “I wasn’t able to defend myself because people in the crowd were holding me back.”

According to Hildebrand, he didn’t like it when Ness “started badmouthing President Trump and America.”
