Holy shit no one has ever said Ian Cohen is at all responsible for his death. That doesn’t mean what he wrote isn’t extremely triggering for some of us and is unforgivable due to what we’ve been through. And we don’t need white knights for him just because you think that’s unfair. You’re just making us feel worse than we already do. Now stop quoting me because you’re both deeply upsetting me and sending me into a horrible place. Thanks.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

It's the fact that that Frightened Rabbit wasn't even the first time he pulled shit like that. He got personal against Brian in his Gaslight Anthem review too. It's ridiculous and shouldn't just be ignored.

It wasn't ignored, it was documented many times. I'm done discussing this. I feel very differently about these issues than a lot of you.. I've always been a much more forgiving person in my life.. for better or for worse.. the people in real life love me for it.. people on the internet... not so much. I understand why people hold these grudges but there are sooo many factors about this stuff you just can't know. and with Ian its a bit more personal for me because he's someone that I've chatted privately with on twitter quite a lot and someone who I've discussed these issues with and believe that he has changed and knows that it wasn't the right thing to do. but this is my last post on the matter, we have one of the greatest records of the year to talk about. Please PM me if you want to continue this discussion.

I wake up literally every day wishing I was dead and wondering if today’s the day I’m finally gonna do it. If you don’t know what that’s like then I literally never want to hear what you think about what Ian wrote.

I think I love Lich King and Nearer My God the best. And obviously Grand Paradise. But yes, the quality of the second half of the album is wonderful.

didn't mean to trigger anyone. hadn't started reading p4k when the frightened rabbit review came out. i know what it is to have suicidal thoughts and not have them taken seriously so i apologize. if ian hasn't as well then he should, though i know he'll only talk to his buddies

What does that have to do with Ian Cohen’s review? Unless you are in fact arguing that Cohen played a part in Scott’s death (which you have said you aren’t), I’m not really sure what this is supposed to mean. I don’t personally don’t think Ian Cohen should be made to feel like he had anything to do with the horrible tragedy of Scott’s death... I feel like I’m similar to @teebs41 in that I’m generally a more forgiving person and believe in people’s ability to learn and grow from their mistakes. We can of course disagree on that, but as someone who also suffers from depression and anxiety I’m still not willing to hate the guy for one thing he wrote years ago. And as always on here, I wish we could have these discussions without people assuming the worst out of each other. Not everyone is going to agree on this, not even everyone who has struggled with suicidal thoughts and depression. I understand the frustration but just wish we could have these discussions with less hostility.

eric is primarily the one singing "no more sun and no more light shine through" right? i really hope they let him sing even more in the future.

yeah i guess it was a sorta last minute thing to get him singing on those two tracks, and it worked out so well they wanted to get him on more but didn't want it to feel like a tack on thing, which makes sense.

i remember like two years ago a lot of people were thinking this band may be done, or release one more album and then hang it out. but in all these interviews conor seems like he doesn't wanna quit anytime soon. i fucking love this band.
