One shiny thus far.

 

4 shiny. Wasn’t really playing too much though

 

1 shiny today. Hoping for at least 2 tomorrow because i don't even want to evolve this Eevee

 

Caught five shiny. Evolved one. Not sure what to do with the rest.

 

No shinies today. Try again tomorrow I guess.

 

Said fuck it and evolved them. Three Jolteons in a row, then Flareon, then Vaporeon. Thank goodness I got all three.

 

I got 4 shinys oberall. Evolved and got 2 Jolteon, 1 Flareon and 1 Vaporeon. Hoping to get a few more tomorrow to finish out the rest I don’t have.

 

5 for me today, 8 for my mother. Evolved Flareon and Jolteon and walking for Umbreon now. Really hoping to get enough tomorrow to get Vaporeon and for a couple future gens.

 

Played for the full three hours and got 13 shinies as well as plenty of powerful top tier Eevee. Also racked up about 200k stardust. Gonna hit it hard again tomorrow. I need to get back out there and stock up on balls first though.

 

I didn’t get to play today like I wanted to at all. I literally caught those shinys on a 30 minute trip to Walmart.

 

Was on a flight until 5 minutes before it ended today, suffice to say I didn't catch anything. There's still tomorrow!

 

gf got fucking EIGHT, four of them almost back-to-back. i got three.

 

I played for two hours and a half and got 2 shinies in the first two hour and then got 4 others in 15 minutes. Also got a 100% Eevee.

 

I think I will wait and see if the gen 4 rollout brings a consistent evolution method for the original trio before I evolve my shinies. I would quite like one of each, but I used the name trick already and it took me a while to get a Jolteon at random.

EDIT: 2 more today to take my shiny total to 17. Enough to have some spare for Sylveon!

 

The colors for these shiny are god awful. Still need Flareon, Espeon, and Umbreon. The color scheme for Umbreon is easily the best.

I'm curious, I evolved one really good Eevee I had walked for 10k into an Espeon because I read online that Espeon with Confusion/Last Resort is a top 10 attacker currently in game. I want another one (shiny hopefully) with Last Resort, but I am guessing that I have to walk another Eevee a full 10K by tomorrow and evolve it before the time is up? or if I have a caught Eevee from the event, will it keep Last Resort no matter when I finish walking it?

 

Nah, you gotta walk it the full 10k and evolve it before the event ends on Monday at 1PM PST to get Last Resort. However, that information about Last Resort Espeon being a top 10 attacker has been redacted. The Silph Road was assuming that it would be more powerful than it ended up being. I’m definitely not the authority on these things but if you look on Silph Road there’s a lot of people asking about Last Resort and the consensus is that it’s not very good.

 

Also, I think I’m friends with almost everyone in here that frequents the thread, but if not, please add me! I’ve got ten gifts right now and I’ve already sent one to everyone on my friends list today.

 

Thanks for the update on that. I'll likely keep the one 89% I have with Last Resort, and not worry about having it for another.

 

No problem man. The only thing is I guess down the road in like gen 7 they may introduce something called z-moves? Which will make Last Resort twice as powerful? But I have no idea and that’s assuming that Niantic actually incorporates that feature. If they do that though I feel like they will give us another chance at Last Resort at some point, since that is literally years away.

 

I need to walk 10k today to get my Umbreon. Espeon is so glaringly green that it cracks me up.

I hate that Vaporeon, which is one of my favorite shinies ever, is the last one I need. The stress for today is real!

Really hope I can get at least 4 so I can save one for each future evolution.

 

I’m hoping to grab some more shinies today because yesterday was super disappointing. Happened to be downtown eating so I sat with a lure, turned incense on, etc. and clicked on like 70 of those throughout the day and ended up with just one. If I get one more I’ll probably save it for a new gen.

Adorable story today:

I was sitting around at the airport for work (pickups for summer school students) and loading up a nearby gym right before a Machamp raid starts. I go order a cup of tea and bring it back, and the family leans over and says

"Excuse me, he wants to know if you will take the Machamp down with him?"

So I look over and this boy about seven years old is also playing the game. And obviously, even though I'd already used my free pass today (caught an Alolan Raichu by gatecrashing a group outside one of the terminals), I said." yeah, sure"

So obviously we win (he was a higher level than me!) and he asks me how good my Machamp is - not sure if he knows the numbers or his sad does but anyway his is better than mine. I thank him - in Swedish, because they were Swedish - and then I have to go back to work.

For whatever reason, really brightened up my day.

 

Caught another shiny Eevee and finally caught a Registeel. Was a successful day for me

 

I didn't think I used the name trick for Esp/Umb, but it turns out I did, and now I'm stuck with more Vaporeons. Ugh.
