I had semi-high expectations for Happy Death Day and it just fell flat for me. It’s by no means a bad movie, but didn’t have the scares or the wit that I was expecting. I thought it was ok but it’s not a movie I’ll probably ever seek out for a rewatch. That’s just me, though.

I would never tell someone to not watch Happy Death Day. I know there are movies that I adore that some people likely think are trash. Just wasn’t what I hoped.

    Loved Happy Death Day.

Iffy on the idea of there being a sequel coming up...but that's horror.

anyone know if Strangers 2 is streaming anywhere? I know it's mixed reactions but I really want to check it out. I'm going into it not expecting the 1st one.

  8. Lastnight, I watched The Thing (1982) for the first time. It was soooo good! Not sure why I slept on it for my entire life.

Always my favorite from TFTC. JP-S's first role as a total badass and Billy Zane forever catching loogies in the eye.

Oh yeah I forgot Karyn Kusama directed it. The Invitation is one of my favorites of the past few years.

Finally got around to seeing A Cure For Wellness. What a beautifully shot film. Rather bizarre. Definitely don’t think I understand all the imagery haha. But very cool

  20. Agreed on A Cure For Wellness, very bizarre and very well-shot. I liked it quite a bit. Reminded me of a cross between The Shining and Shutter Island.

One of my movie-watching regrets is flaking out the night I was supposed to see A Cure for Wellness in the theatre. It looks breathtaking and goes to some crazy places; it’s so cool an original horror story like that got a wide release. It’s just a movie I loved spending time with and it would have been nice to do that while it was on the big screen

we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

My wife and I ended up watching it in theaters because the showing of Get Out we had planned on going to was sold out. Needless to say, it worked out great because I doubt we would have gone back out to catch A Cure For Wellness if it wasn’t for the sold out Get Out show.

It’s worth a viewing for sure. The only reason I waited so long to see it was it’s a bit of a time commitment at over 2 and 1/2 hours.
