Agreed with all the above (recommendations); also recommend The Wild Wind, probably my favorite discovery of 2017

Speaking of Japanese House, Jamie has been tweeting about a full length coming out this year right?

I mean lyrically and musically it’s pretty one-note and formulaic, no? Not incredibly inventive or dynamic, hella corny to boot. I listen to them constantly and I like them but I know the difference between a filet and a cheeseburger from BK.

It sounds like they're trying to make fun simple dreamy pop music, and they do it well, so i'd say it's good?

Back on AP someone in the 1975 thread got me into the band Dive In. They released two EPs and then a handful of singles that were all pretty solid pop songs. Then suddenly they went silent a couple years ago and I kept wondering what happened to them. In January of this year they showed back up again with a new band they titled “Everybody Stares” and a new song “I Know My Heart”. I thought it was pretty good and consistent with the sound they’d established with Dive In. Then a few months later the posts about Everybody Stares were removed and they disappeared again. Anyone here happen to listen to this band or know what’s going on with them?

they sound ok live but the lead singer has no charisma or no electric presence. Needs to work on it

I loved dive in and had no idea that this happened. I have to check out that song. I’m also big on patternist and flor. Rvbn is also great. Anyone know what happened to stranger fiction?

  20. lol do you though?

Food analogies to music are weird. A good BK burger is damn good.

    And LANY makes good music.

    Think it was me.

I never got chance to download the Everybody Stares track before they got rid of it. The singer follows me on Twitter, I might DM him and ask for it.

  22. I will die on my simplistic music can be great hill and don't care. And that making "simple" music sound good is really fucking hard.

Nothing's been said recently, but it's still slated as TBA 2018. Could see it getting pushed so as to not be buried between two 1975 releases.

Hotel Apache is a lot like LANY in so far as they're good, don't sound at all like the 1975, and I heard about them because someone said they sound like the 1975.
