That's why I think the acoustic dvd/cd that came with Vital is one of their best albums haha, he is such an amazing singer and I do hate some of the effects on his voice.

That album has the best versions of Take Me How You Found Me and Type Three.

Picking a favorite Anberlin chorus is borderline Impossible (ha) for me. Top 10 would make a killer list of choruses.

EDIT: I always forget Phil Sneed (guitarist for Story of the Year) does the guest vocals in the bridge of The Runaways. Him and Stephen sound great together.

Getting hype to the OG The Feel Good Drag over here. It's kind of crazy that their biggest song is a toned down rerecording of the heaviest song in their discog that isn't as good as the original.

EDIT: Wait, apparently people realized this is the better version. That's cool.

    Wooooo!

I do like the into on the NS album, but other than that the NTFP version is better.

I like the vocal effects on Modern Age. Also, consider the song subject matter and the effects make more sense.

You got a handwritten song from Cities? Not Vital? Confused...

IIRC at one point they were offering handwritten lyric lithographs or screen prints or something for a handful of songs from various albums, not just Vital.

Oh interesting...I think those were different that what I have, which is a piece of paper with the lyrics to Modern Age handwritten by Stephen. I know they had 50 of them as part of a super deluxe Vital preorder package. I know what you're talking about though...something similar is still available for sale at their store.

Day off. At a coffee shop getting a bunch of things done I've been putting off. Decided to do a full Anberlin catalog listen. Just for the hell of it.

This seemed like a good place to share that. Ha.

    DOOT-doo-doo-doooooo, doot-doo-doo-dooooooooo

I think it’s a fun song though. I mean I would never play it for other people but I enjoy listening to it myself.

Listened to Blueprints today and I really enjoy that album. Like sneaky bangers. I definitely like it more that a couple of their other albums to be honest.

I listened to Blueprints the other day. I stand by my opinion that it’s their weakest, but it’s definitely and uniquely Anberlin. You don’t hear many debut albums that are that self-assured.

Blueprints was a really solid debut album.

Definitely holds up a lot better than a whole lot of other albums that came out in the early 2000s.

Yes. It doesn’t sound especially mature, but it somehow doesn’t sound dated to me. I might just be used to it though.

"Glass to the arson" and "the undeveloped story" are two of my favorite songs by them and those two don't sound too dated to me

Glass to Arson should have been a live staple! I don't think they knew how good that song was.

I discovered Anberlin on some weird AOL internet radio thing in like 2005, this song was played. I found them on Purevolume and it was one of the songs available for free download. They've since become one of my favorite bands and this song will always slam.
