I personally have no interest in a guardians movie without Bautista and Gunn and maybe Saldana?

 

Let's say Disney/Marvel move forward with a new director and toss out James Gunn's script - is there any precedent for them simply letting Dave Bautista out of his contract...?

 

They didn't mind recasting Hulk and Rhodey early on, but they weren't really established in the public consciousness yet, and I don't know what their contracts looked like.

If Bautista doesn't have a change of heart and no one else in the main cast takes their stand that far, I'd imagine the most likely scenario would be a compromise where Drax dies relatively early in the film.

 

Marvel does have a habit of dismissing characters' absence with a line of dialogue. Dunno if they would have the character die off screen or anything though, that would be cheap

 

If Drax and Gamora (if she isn’t revived) are not part of the group in Vol. 3 then I would rather Taika just try to write the film with Thor in it. It could be a Guardians-centered film but with Thor helping them for a portion of the film. Drax and Gamora are two sides of the same coin and are a major reason I like watching the Guardians films.

 

The new Guardians are just Rocket and Thor

 

With Nebula alive I think it would be interesting if she teamed up with Rocket and Thor in A4 for their own limited version of the Guardians.

 

Disney is such an immoral company I think it’s time for me to finally stop giving them money to keep being an imperialist monopoly that underpays their workers, exploits labor laws and tax breaks for gargantuan corporations, abuses real estate loopholes, denies critical press access to their screenings, and caves to fascist right wing smear campaigns for nothing PR. None of these Marvel or Disney movies are worth it and the Fox merger is just more bad news.
